Hi Myrene, Thank you for sharing you service experience from May 20, 2015. Sunnyside is committed to providing quality service to meet our customers’ needs. Our goal is to serve our customers in the most professional, efficient way possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may have been caused in this matter. The exhaust repair we quoted you consisted of a 1-piece pipe assembly which included both muffler and catalytic converter. You would have received the same price for an OEM exhaust pipe assembly, gaskets and installation from any local Toyota dealer. Unfortunately, two years ago Toyota did not have the part available as two separate components or the cost of the repair would have been significantly less. In fact, the catalytic converter represented approximately 70% of the estimate. As a Toyota dealer, we typically do not dissect or patch an exhaust system like Bubba’s muffler. If we could have sold you just a new muffler, the cost would have been much closer to the repair you received at the local muffler shop. Once again, please accept our apologies for not explaining this when it occurred.
