Very frustrating and treated like I was a jerk. I received a service reminder e-mail coupon in small print for an oil change stating the service includes fill all fluid levels, rotate tires, 5 quart I received a service reminder e-mail coupon in small print for an oil change stating the service includes fill all fluid levels, rotate tires, 5 quarts of synthetic oil - $68.82. Right below that in large print stated a price of $50.52 and expires on 3/27/20, making it appear it was the limited sale price for the above service. I have shown this on my phone to 5 people and they all read it the exact same way thinking the total was $50.52. I had my Rav4 that I purchased new from your dealership and serviced at all requested intervals. I had the service done and when showing my phone coupon was told it would not be $50.52 as the coupon said but would be $68.82. Christine said the $50.52 was for regular oil only. I said nowhere on the coupon did it state anything about regular oil, only the service using synthetic oil and a sale price of $50.52. I said I need to talk to a manager then because I should not be penalized due to a coupon that is not clearly stated. She grabbed my phone from me and stormed into the service managers office. He came out and I tried to explain how it was not clear that that price was for regular oil and if he could show me that anywhere on the coupon I would pay the $68.82. He said no and walked away. This really upset me that because your dealership sent me a deceptive sales ad price with a expiration date making it appear it was on sale for $50.52, and that I was at fault. I said I doubt I would ever return for future service or any future vehicle purchases since they both made me feel like I was some kind of jerk for even questioning what they said. He finally yelled out of his office in a ticked off voice to give me the price. Christine was now being very rude and acted pissed off as if I was taking money from her personally. The service manager then came out and took a picture of my phone coupon, he went into his office and then said he could see why I might have read it that way. Days later I'm still upset that I did nothing wrong, and was made to feel like I tried to ripe off your service department and how upset they acted towards me. Was it really worth an $18. difference in price that I thought I was suppose to receive, to lose a customer! More
I took my old (218000 mile)Prius in for a check and was told that it would need brakes pretty soon. They are the original brakes. They estimated it would cost between $625 and $1100 depending on whether the bolts on the rear brake would break in getting them off. Sunnyside had quoted me just under $500. so I took it back to Sunnyside and it turned out it cost $4444.75. I also thought the muffler sounded like it was getting loud. Instead of a big repair bill (again a car with 218000 miles) they suggested I go to a muffler shop who could do a repair for much less. I am the original owner of this car and intend to “drive it until the wheels fall off”. So I will do as they recommend. I have taken my car to sunnyside for nearly all maintenance and repairs and I truthfully have only the best things to say about this dealership. My only regret about my Prius (2007) is that I’d have bought it there. The dealership I bought it from is closer to my home in Lorain county but the bad dealership has told me the few times I did take it back there that repairs were much more expensive or even unnecessary. Do I love Sunnyside ? Heck yeah! More
