I have no experience with "Customer Service" or "Quality of [Service] Work" and did not rate either. I appreciated that Wellesley Volkswagen's internal survey was short. But short surveys do not capture additional details that I want to pass along. 1)I did vehicle research (Car and Driver, Consumer Reports). I did pricing research (Edmonds, Kelley, US News). I did test drives of a standard Golf and a Golf TDI at a nearby dealer. I used Kelley to express interest to three other local dealers, including Wellesley Volkswagen. 2)My relationship with Wellesley VW was developed entirely through phone conversations with Kevin Mullin. I did not look beyond Wellesley VW because Kevin easily adapted to my way of working. 3)Kevin first looked for a standard Golf at another dealer. …No longer available. Other matches were in NJ and PA. …Availability uncertain. I rechecked specs on my Acura Integra GS-R, (also a Car and Driver Top 10) and refocused on the Golf GTI and the MasdaSpeeed3 as closer replacements. 4)I chose an “Autobahn” GTI (refinement over performance). So, Kevin went looking for an “Autobahn” GTI and the right deal fell in place. An “Autobahn” GTI was on a truck headed to your sister dealership in Westborough. The GTI completed a swap initiated by Westborough. 5)I was quite sure about what I wanted and I knew the pricing structure from true cost to true invoice to MSRP. I bought the GTI on approval and never set foot in the Wellesley dealership until the day I drove the GTI and signed the paperwork. Here's what works for this customer: 1)Do vehicle research – reviews, spec comparisons, test drives. 2)Do price research – pricing structure and competitive selling price. 3)Work with an experienced salesperson like Kevin who: ·Has thorough knowledge about current VWs and earlier models. ·Will work to find the vehicle that the customer wants. ·Recognizes when the customer has done research and has the facts. ·Has the authority to personally close a competitive deal. Bottom line: From Search to Find to Acquire to Drive to Purchase… This deal was done almost entirely by phone with one salesperson in 5 days. More

We went to Wellesley Volkswagen shopping for a good used car, fairly specific with our shopping list. A couple of weeks later the dealer called with almost exactly what we wanted! Aurielo Pabon was a gentleman throughout, very friendly, responsible and communicative. He helped to make the entire experience go smoothly from start to finish. Mike Ahern, the general manager, was also excellent and really took care of us. The car was completely detailed and waxed and ready later the same day. They were extremely flexible with getting it inspected, allowing me to drop off at night later in the week and pick up the next day. I would recommend this dealership. I think that they are interested in maintaining excellent repeat customers and that feels good. Only suggestion for improvement: the gentleman in the business office was somewhat hasty and not entirely clear with warranties and responding to questions. More

There was none of the expected "back and forth", instead everything seemed straightforward and hassle-free with him and with the Sales Manager. As I left I picked up some items in the Parts Dept - only a brief visit but staff was friendly and quick. My only less-than-positive experience in the process was in the business office regarding extended warranty, etc. Here it would have been better to have received a clear overview of what is covered by the warranties I have (remainder of manuf.'s warranty + 2-year dealer warranty on top) vs. the extended warranty, instead of blanket statement that "your first incident will run you more than the cost of the extended warranty". However, at no time did I sense dishonesty or "slickness", and there was no hard sell. As stated earlier, overall a positive experience and I would recommend this dealership. More
I am giving Wellesley VW a very high grade because the service department ALWAYS goes above and beyond the call of duty for me--each and every time I enter their doors and I have been going to Wellesley V service department ALWAYS goes above and beyond the call of duty for me--each and every time I enter their doors and I have been going to Wellesley VW for several years now. Ian Bray, Michael DOmings, Mike Kandalaft, Jamie Mitchell are all THE VERY BEST! Each one makes the time to see me about any issues and to look at my car, converse with me about any problems, and they always display wonderful, gentleman-like behaviour. Very rare these days!!! I have had a couple of occasions where kind of bizarre things happened to my car (all my fault) and they never questioned me about the incidents. I have always been treated with the utmost respect. I really enjoy these guys and the whole staff. Joan is always so pleasant to deal with, too. Overall, one fabulous organization!!! Kudos to all! Barbara Camp More

I was contacting VW dealerships around my area to find out more about the car I thought I wanted, to test drive it and to discuss pricing. I contacted Wellesley VW through an online form, and Scott respo out more about the car I thought I wanted, to test drive it and to discuss pricing. I contacted Wellesley VW through an online form, and Scott responded to it in an exceptionally timely manner. His response was more informative than any other dealer I had heard from and was absolutely no pressure. While the response from most dealers was focused on simply getting me to come visit without answering any of my questions, Scott let me know that what I was looking for might be hard to find, but that they would do their best. He had a few questions for me, which I answered, and he responded with a price range that we'd be looking at. This range became my base when I talked to other dealers, and all of them were much higher. I decided to go visit Scott in person. Meeting him was such a pleasant encounter. At this point, I had test driven the car elsewhere and was ready to talk price. They didn't have what I wanted right there, but Scott gave me a few options and broke down what each decision would mean. I decided on a car and Scott very carefully walked me through the price breakdown. While waiting for the car to arrive, Scott emailed me each time it got a step closer to their store. When the car arrived and I went to pick it up, we ran into a tiny bit of trouble (my fault) and Scott handled it quickly and professionally. His main concern that day was getting me into my new car and making sure I was happy. Anthony was also very helpful that day and explained all finance related items clearly and without pressure. Scott then took the time to show me how everything on my new car works, even though it was well past the time he was scheduled to leave that day. I was a new customer to them, but I am now definitely a customer for life. More

When I arrived at the dealership and spoke with the Asst. manager Michael Domings he put my mind at ease the all the work would be completed in a timely manner. This was more than true. Michael not only diagnosed my car but made arrangements for me to have a rental car waiting. I can say when owning an older model car I sometimes worry about the work being done honestly and at a reasonable price. I felt my trip to Wellesley VW was pleasant and stress free. I would refer to anyone looking for a dealership with friendly, knowledgable employees to Wellesley VW. More
