We finally met Matt and he helped us to identify which car within an hour. He asks the right questions and identified a packaged deal that was just right for us. By the way, he did this on his day off! I would recommend asking for Matt if you ever visit the Nissan dealer in Wayazata. More

Salesman come and go and SALES MANAGER is RUDE! Please be sure to read reviews from all three big review sites (Google, Yelp and Dealer Rater). I had a terrible experience with Wayzata Nissan. Mos Please be sure to read reviews from all three big review sites (Google, Yelp and Dealer Rater). I had a terrible experience with Wayzata Nissan. Most of their google reviews are good, but after this experience I looked at Yelp and found the nasty ones. Here is my story. My main beef is with the New Car Sales Manager whose name is Tom Groves. Prior to communicating with Mr Groves, I was working with salesperson A. “A” was great to work with. He was doing everything in his power to get me into the vehicle I wanted at the price I needed to be at. He asked that I submit a credit application so that all pricing he offers will be final pricing. He promised no surprises if the credit app was in. I promptly submitted the app. Once he finally got a deal I was happy with, I asked him to put it in writing and as soon as I sold my car, I would come back to take delivery. Selling my car took a bit longer than planned. I called him back 2 weeks later to move forward , even though I hadn’t sold my car. Upon calling the dealership, I learned that “A” was no longer with the dealership. They asked if I wanted to work with someone else, I told them no thank you. About 3 days later, I received a call from a new salesperson at Wayzata Nissan. He asked if I was still interested. I told him I was. He asked if I would like to work with him. I politely said no thank you. The reason I didn’t want to work with him was because while dealing with “A”, I remember “A” getting some technical specs on the vehicle from another salesperson and if I was going to move forward with the transaction, I figured that was the guy to work with. Let’s call that guy Salesperson “B”. “B” was a very knowledgeable, seasoned, sales person. He too promised me the price and car we had been talking about with “A” would remain the same and there wouldn’t be any surprises. I waited a couple days to see if they would come down any further. When I finally decided it was time to buy, I called the dealership and learned that “B” was no longer employed with Wayzata Nissan! At that point, I decided it was time to get in touch with a manager. I didn’t want this deal to touch any other hands that weren’t guaranteed to carry it all the way to delivery. When I asked for a manager, I was transferred to “Tom Groves the New Car Sales Manager with 20+ years of experience who makes buying a car fun!”. I explained the entire story to Tom and asked him if I could still count on getting the exact car and pricing I had discussed with both of his 2 prior sales people. He asked if he could take about 15 minutes to locate my deal folder and call me back. I said take all the time you need. When he called me back, I was unavailable. He left me a voice message which is of course saved to my phone and promised to deliver the vehicle within the terms we had discussed (I’m not mentioning price and vehicle in this post, but he actually quoted the exact price and exact vehicle on my voicemail). I called him back and he again said we were good to go. He asked if he could transfer me to another salesperson to deliver the car. I said as long as he isn’t going to get fired or quit, I didn’t really care who it was. So he transferred me to salesman “C”. “C” said come on in, we are ready to go! I told him I was leaving town for the weekend and would like to take delivery on Monday morning. He said no problem. When I called on Monday morning is when everything fell apart. The price increased by $30/month. I told him that was unacceptable. I told him he needs to get in touch with Tom and that Tom would save this for us. He called me back the next day and said there was nothing he could do. So…”A” and “B” quit, and “C” is trying to raise the price at the last second. At this point I figured I was getting signs and shouldn’t take this transaction any further. But, now that I had officially sold my car and was desperately in need of new wheels, I called Tom back to see what he could do. I have never had anyone be so rude to me. He acted like my phone call was such a burden on him. He basically told me that the price was raised and it wasn’t coming back to what had been promised. I told him I have it in writing from “A”, and I have a verbal recording from him promising the car at a certain price. He said there was nothing he could do. No explanation. I told him I was very disappointed. He hung up on me. I wouldn’t recommend going to Wayzata Nissan. There are many other Nissan dealers in town. If you have to go to Wayzata, be sure to check out other dealers for comparison. More
