They did a great job on an oil change and tire rotation. I mentioned an issue with the emergency brake coming on every time the car was in park and they were able to fix it at no charge and I had the car ba I mentioned an issue with the emergency brake coming on every time the car was in park and they were able to fix it at no charge and I had the car back in record time😀 More
I brought my 2018 Jeep transmission in for extended warranty work. When the transmission fluid was drained, it was determined to be contaminated due to prior service at Firestone Eden Prairie. Was to warranty work. When the transmission fluid was drained, it was determined to be contaminated due to prior service at Firestone Eden Prairie. Was told of this right away from Steve Belzer. Steve is a straight shooter and appeared to not support my concerns right away as he had already called the extended warranty company which resulted with an immediate denial of the claim due to contamination. There was no discussion with me or Firestone of how this could of happened prior to his call to the extended warranty company. Firestone had flushed the transmission at 60,000 miles and was now doing the same work at 116,000 miles as a hard downshift was occurring. Firestone had purchased the correct Mopar fluid from Park Jeep Burnsville and had an invoice to prove that. It took a few days and a discussion with Myron to get him to take some action supporting me as I was stuck in the middle. This involved getting an insurance adjuster out to look at the transmission. The claim was still denied (due to contamination) and the adjuster came on a Friday when Steve was not working. He had left instructions but I don't feel they were fully followed and thus the claim was still denied. The transmission pan was to be removed to see if metal was around the magnet proving transmission failure was ocurring prior to the Firestone flush as I was informed earlier that week. Steve's answer was he was not there and the pan needed to be on for the adjuster to drive the Jeep and experience the hard downshift. I gave up on the extended warranty company CNA as I needed the Jeep and apparently no one at Walser was going to fully follow through as contamination in the fluids existed. I am working on reimbursement from Firestone and Steve has been fully cooperative in that regard. He did a great job of answering questions timely. We ordered a new transmission after one that was in stock was determined to be used but showing as new in the parts department. This took another week and a half. When I picked up the car, everything was explained by Steve how to break it in and I drove off. To my surprise, my skid plate was loose and a few days later the Jeep was stuck in four wheel drive with no way to undo it. I called Steve and he had it towed and gave me a rental car. The mechanic found the problem and tightened up the skid plate bolt that was stuck and not fixed when the original work was done. I also noticed a few other bolts on the skid plates that were sheared off and asked those be looked at. When I picked up the Jeep, the transfer case had been found to have a loose connection and the bolt had been fixed. However, Steve told me the sheared bolts were not Walser's fault as they appeared rusted and would not have been sheared off by his technician. This was very disappointing as I had been out of use of my Jeep for 3 plus weeks, sharing a car with my wife for errands and was looking to have to fight for reimbursement of a $6,000 repair. Walser did their part but at a minimum. I would have been much more satisfied if there had at least been an attempt to fix the sheared off bolts as I still suspect Walser since the one bolt that was stuck originally was left as is and lead to a rattle and shaking underneath the car. I would suggest more concern for the customer and follow through. I will continue to use Walser for major repairs and new vehicle purchases but Walser needs to regain my confidence in the future. Steve is a good person doing his job. I understand him and will continue to work with him. More
