2009 purchase & service was excellent, 2018 not so much Our 1st Subaru purchase in 2009 went so well we came back to purchase an Ascent on 11/29/2018. The buying process with Princess went pretty well, but after we signed on the dotted line we got forgotten about by the dealer. Our purchase included a detailing and protection service we paid for and was told by Daren we would get a call to set up the appt. After several follow-ups with Princess and Melissa for the dealer to get a callback, it is 2 months later and we have yet to hear from the Service dept. My husband is a firefighter, I am a Registered Nurse and Army Reserve officer so we know about selfless service and customer service. It's a xxxx shame and I see why my brother bought his Subaru thru Bellevue instead. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment myself. We have 3 kids and would have loved to continued business with Walkers, but when trust is broken it is hard to gain it back. We love our two Subaru's and we will purchase more, but not with Walkers. Ive always purchased used and I was super nervous walking in knowing that i had never put this much money down on a vehicle. Chery made the whole process so much easier on me and couldnt have been more informative. The whole staff were very friendly and would even hold doors open for you as you walked in and out. The whole experience was exciting, and I walked out with the keys to my new Impreza and a smile that I have yet to shake off. More

Mel was very approachable, great about showing us our options, very patient as I waffled between two cars, and not at all pushy. She also worked with us to negotiate on the trade-in value of our old car. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience at Walker's and would recommend them to others in the market! More
They Took Advantage of my Trust I was a first time car buyer and thought I was getting a great deal from them. Priding themselves on making it simple, personable and caring. 12 Da I was a first time car buyer and thought I was getting a great deal from them. Priding themselves on making it simple, personable and caring. 12 Days after I bought my brand new car, I had to bring it in because I notice a glitch in the dashboard. I was handed the car back assured that nothing was wrong and the blinking lights were a part of the security system. So I trusted them and without question continued to drive it. 1 Month later brought it back again cause the glitching persisted and this time it seemed abnormal. Even had the alarm randomly go off in the middle of the night, checked the house security cameras and nothing noticeable had initiated the alarm to go off. Was handed back the car from service center, said there was a battery missing (why didn't they notice it the first time??) and claimed to have fixed it again. 3 months after owning the car, ironically had car broken into on the rear passenger window at the gym. After reviewing the security footage from the gym, car alarm failed to function properly. So now I was irritated, I had warned them that I noticed an issue and each time they failed to actually fix the issue. And now with a broken window they didn't offer to fix it, they gave me a use trunk cover from another vehicle and offered no more than a free detail and a security upgrade. I asked them, why didn't they address the issue and let me know that there were higher security levels because as a new car owner I would have opted for a better security system anyway. I forgave their mistake and continued to have my car serviced by them. 1 year and 7 months into ownership and still under 36,000 mile warranty. I noticed my eyesight was glitching, my front passenger airbag wasn't working (even when I had my 6ft 3in and 190lb coworker in the seat) and my radio was all static (I hadn't noticed for a while since I play music off of my Phone). I finally decided to get a second opinion from another certified Subaru dealership. They told me my radio was broken and improperly installed (2 of the 4 bolts were in place and wires were ripped out) all potentially affecting other components behind my dash (like my eyesight). Also they found a code error in the airbag after doing a simple computer scan. In the 5 times I had brought my car to Walker's service center, none of this issues were caught. In the one check up with this secondary service center, they were able to catch all of these SAFETY issues. Due to Walker's poor service, they not only damaged my car further, they also endangered my safety and the safety of my passengers (family & friends). For a company that represents a brand of Safety, longevity and investment in your car, they failed on all ends. The other concerning issue was that my car was nearing its final check up under warranty (36,000 miles) Had I not been proactive about my car, these issues would have gone unnoticed or unaddressed by Walker's. Were they waiting till my warranty to expire? Just so they could charge me for all the repairs? Even when I went back to talk to the manager (Justin Guddat), I waited for over 20 minutes as I could see him in his office eating a sandwich. I had to check twice in 10 minute intervals to see if he was available. The second time I was told he would be unavailable because he was about to go into a meeting. I finally asked to know when the owner would be in, to talk to him. Low and behold, Justin then comes out to talk to me, but not in his office; he ask us to stand outside the building and talk to him. At this point I present all of the service history papers and concerns to him. I received no apology for the inconvenience or any remorse for the hassle; just a "okay I'll take a look at this and get back to you"... yeah he got back to me, 2.5 weeks later. He also responded with an email capitalizing phrases: "At this time what I can offer is for You to bring Your vehicle in and we can re-inspect everything you are calling into question. Unfortunately without being able to see or verify what Rairdon’s is stating about the radio bolts/harness being missing or broken, I am unable to offer assistance in fixing that concern. If You are willing and able to bring it back to our location, we can at least inspect it and go down that path to see if this is something we are in fact responsible for." The unnecessary capitalization seemed passive aggressive and what I don't understand is another certified Subaru technician assessed the damages and I provided the authentic report; so how much more do you need to "assess"? Also the fact that Walker's had been the only service center I had my car serviced at up until my second opinion, so who else could have damaged my car? I offered them to meet with the second service technician at the Subaru Auburn dealership to present the damages they found; at which they refused that offer. (It's not like I could drive my car anyways, it was still in the service lot of the second dealership due to the safety concern of the airbag not functioning properly). Obviously as a young, first time, and female car owner; these are the horror stories we are warned about...I just so happened to have lived it. So please save yourself the heartache and grief. I'm still in a loaner car as we speak, and it's been over a month. I am still dealing with Subaru of America (who are dragging their feet) to help me with this issue! Yes Subaru cars are great...as long as your car doesn't have issues. As for customer service, they suck! Now I'm debating if it's even worth the hassle to get another Subaru again. In the ending it is truly disappointing because I had such high hopes for Walker's and the Subaru brand. I just wish you better luck at other dealerships and hope there is room for redemption. Anyone want to see the service history? Let me know, because the proof is in the papers. More
