As a single female, buying a new car can be a dreaded experience. I worked with Tom Calkins and the experience could not have been better! Tom is friendly, professional and very experienced. I feel I got experience. I worked with Tom Calkins and the experience could not have been better! Tom is friendly, professional and very experienced. I feel I got a great deal and there was none of the awful back and forth that you get at some dealers. I bought the car five days ago and he has called me twice to make sure everything is OK. I highly recommend Tom and West County Volvo. More

This is the third car I have purchased from this dealer in 4 years. There is a reason I have come back time and time again. I do not feel pressured. They have good selection. I like that they are not pushy and that they genuinely care that I got the best car for my needs rather than just trying to make a "big" sale. This review is greatly edited after my initial issues were dealt with my Stephen Lynch (sales manager). Came in to get my first new car. At 36 years old, I was thrilled to finally be able to purchase were dealt with my Stephen Lynch (sales manager). Came in to get my first new car. At 36 years old, I was thrilled to finally be able to purchase a new car. LOVE the 2012 S60 T6 AWD! Arrived on the used car side and was met by Rick Jose (sales). We walked over to the new car side and started looking at 2012 S60s. He was friendly enough I guess; just seemed very serious. His knowledge of the vehicles was so-so. Purchasing was fairly uneventful, they wouldn't lower the car purchase price, but gave more on the trade-in (likely some accounting benefit for them even though I couldn't get Rick to admit it). The finance guy was very nice, very friendly, lots of joking around, but also explained everything very well (can't remember his name). My big issue came with a painted, raised stripe down the side of the car in stock. A company called Autographix from O'Fallon, Missouri sent a guy out to take it off...and totally screwed it up. The brand new white paint was now smeared along the stripe on both sides, and even in places way above the area for some sloppy reason (and also on some of the plastic tail-light covers). Absolutely horrible results. This new car was now ruined. BUT, West County Volvo apologized and said they'd have it fixed perfectly so I gave them the chance to remedy the situation. Drove my car for a few days and then brought it in for the install of my tint, rear camera, front park assist (rear was already in the car), and for the paint and tail-light covers to be replaced/fixed. Rick completely miscalculated the time it would take to do the paint job (likely just his inexperience). Poor communication from Rick and a longer than told finish time got me VERY upset. I was on the fence between the BMW 3-series and this Volvo S60 when making my decision. I still like the S60 more, but dealing with West County Volvo had me regretting the purchase from them. Stephen Lynch then took over communication with me and things were smooth from there. I can at least say I now feel comfortable with taking my car for service there. Update (8/31/2012): This Volvo dealership is horrible. Today, they told me to go to a department of revenue at a location that is incorrect (no office there and never has been). So I got advice from a worker at a Dierberg's where the office was supposed to be. And wouldn't you know it, this one single person that I asked just happened to have a horrible experience with West County Volvo as well. Then, when I eventually found the office, I got a ticket, waited 15-20 minutes, just find out it's the incorrect office for where I live. So then I had to drive 30-45 minutes back downtown to the city hall and got started on getting my things done. Plus, when I got to the License Office at another location, I was told about the $2,770 I had to pay in sales tax (which West County Volvo failed to tell me about); so I had to use my debit card instead of bringing a check and had to pay an extra $77 dollar for that convenience. Thanks West County Volvo! I'll be using Brentwood Volvo (or any other Volvo dealership) for service without a doubt. Basically, the More
By far the worst car experience ever. Made me feel bad for wanting a good deal, cars were not detailed at all, most had stains and discolorations throughout Interior. Made me come down two times in one d for wanting a good deal, cars were not detailed at all, most had stains and discolorations throughout Interior. Made me come down two times in one day to buy the car, and neither time was the car on the lot, they had given it to someone else and didn't know how to get in touch with them. They told us the car was ours and we had a deal. They would call us to let us know when the car came back and was clean. Then they called several hours later to tell me they sold it to someone else. THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. When they told the GM they didn't have the car the second time we were there to buy, and we were leaving, he didn't even get out of his seat. Left and went to LEXIS dealership 1/2 mile away and bought a far superior car, in terms of how clean it was and with more features for the same money. And the dealership treated us with unbelievable respect. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. More
