Treated Poorly I purchased my first car from Tom who did everything to get the sale and then after was of no help. The car was used and I found issues with the car days after purchase and when I brought it back to discuss, I was given no help. He was nice to get the sale but wanted nothing to do with me after the sale. A premium price was paid for the car and I got poor service. The liner in the back came down days after purchase, the center console came undone, and the engine began making odd noises. It seemed as they did a poor job trying to get the car ready for sale and then when their initial fixes failed they wanted nothing to do with fixing the vehicle. More

We are looking forward to our trip in May to pick up our new XC60 from Sweden this time.Volvo #4. Everyone at Suntrup West County Volvo is always extremely friendly and knowledgable including the Service dept. Tom has become a friend as well as our car salesman he makes it easy for us to buy from him out of State.We are definately Volvo for life owners and will continue to buy from Tom Calkins and Suntrup West County Volvo. I inquired about a vehicle online and the next morning received an email and phone call from Ken. Having done this multiple times before I was hesitant to respond, only because I don't look forward to the received an email and phone call from Ken. Having done this multiple times before I was hesitant to respond, only because I don't look forward to the back and forth of the usual buying and selling of a car. Ken was very frank with me, which was 100% welcomed. and we exchanged via the phone call how simple the process was hopefully going to be. My partner and I went in that afternoon and once I found Ken, everything was a breeze. Just a really nice guy....and truthfully really nice guys get overlooked most of the time. but i can say that I noticed and payed attention. He was very to the point, as was I. We decided to run some numbers and everything worked out. I truly love my car and had been looking at it for a few years, Ken made it easy to finally pull the trigger and make it happen. Not overbearing. Not judgmental. Non-assuming. and easy to converse with. I work at a business not far and have been STRONGLY suggesting him to many of my clients. you won't be disappointed. Great experience leasing a new Volvo West County Volvo and Tom Calkins are great to work with. My prior lease was almost up, and I was in for some routine maintenance. Without any pressur West County Volvo and Tom Calkins are great to work with. My prior lease was almost up, and I was in for some routine maintenance. Without any pressure, Tom showed me some of the new cars, and the differences between the 2014s and the 2015s, and let me drive several. Listening to my needs/desires, he guided me to the cars that were equipped appropriately. Unlike some dealer experiences you might have, I never felt pushed into a car that wasn't what I wanted. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd happily lease or purchase from Tom and West County Volvo again. More

I've been searching for a quality used car for my granddaughter who is graduating from high school. After visiting several dealerships on Manchester Road I decided to see what West County Volvo had t granddaughter who is graduating from high school. After visiting several dealerships on Manchester Road I decided to see what West County Volvo had to offer. Upon stopping I was quickly greeted by Jim Carpenter who is a very friendly person but who didn't waste any time determining my parameters for the vehicle I was searching for. Jim quickly narrowed the field down to 3 cars. There was no pressure to buy or make an immediate decision, just factual discussions about each of the possible choices. Coming back later with my wife, Jim took on several test drives and we quickly decided on a Mazda Tribute which was several thousand dollars over what we originally planned to spend but the very low mileage and the condition of the interior and exterior convinced us that this would be a good long term choice. Jim made the paperwork as pleasant as possible and we drove away with an almost new car. A good experience all the way around. P.S. MY son and I had previously bought 3 automobiles from West County Volvo and it was always a great experience. More
I purchased a certified pre-owned XC-60 Volvo, drove it home and found out it needed a new front passenger tire. I had to have both of them replaced due to tire wear but my big complaint is the quality of home and found out it needed a new front passenger tire. I seen the tire defect myself and had to have it replaced because the steel belting was showing on the side wall of the tire. I called and talked to Dan Suntrup about it but other than him asking me what he wanted me to do about it there was no customer service recovery done at all. This dealership clearly does not want to have returning customers, I was just a sale. I would never buy another car from West County Volvo. More
Early in the afternoon of Sunday February 23 I was unable to start my car, which was in my garage at home in Lebanon, IL. I called Volvo Roadside Service, who within the hour had a service person at my home to start my car, which was in my garage at home in Lebanon, IL. Once I got my car running I drove 45 miles to meet a friend in the parking lot of St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO, where I planned to leave my car while we attended a dinner event. I turned off my car while waiting there, but decided after a short time to restart the engine, just to be sure all was well and that the battery had indeed recharged. Much to my dismay the engine would not start. I was now a long way from home late on a Sunday afternoon and had no idea what to do. I decided to call Tom Calkins, who had sold me the car 4 years ago and who was always helpful with any issues or questions I had about my car. As I was explaining my plight to Tom, he asked me exactly where my car and I were located. When I told him that I was in the parking lot of St. Luke's Hospital, he said that, as fate would have it, he was inside the hospital visiting a patient, and that I should stay there, and he would find some way to help. About 5 minutes later a hospital security van pulled up in front of my car, and out hopped Tom Calkins and a security guard carrying a battery jump machine. Tom promptly opened the hood of my car, hooked up the cables, and jump started my car. His kindness did not stop there. He knew that I could not shut the car off and get it restarted and that I had to be gone for several hours before returning home, so he told me to hop in my car. He drove to where he parked his car, handed me his keys, and told me I should drive his car. He would take my car directly to the dealership, and we could swap cars the next day, and mine would be fixed and waiting for me then. That is exactly how the saga ended! Tom absolutely saved my day, and I will never forget it. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude to Tom Calkins. His actions were absolutely above and beyond the call of duty. He is definitely my knight in shining armor, and I have been telling the world about him ever since! More
