SmartShopper123 I want to start off by apologizing that your experience was not to the level you expected. I thank you for your feedback on your experience at our dealership. I understand how one could misinterpret the information we need for OFAC as much of the same information a dealer/loan institution would need to pull credit. Please understand this was not our intention.. “Auto dealers are required by law to review the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list, which includes the names of individuals, organizations and countries against which the U.S has imposed sanctions. Dealerships must review this list prior to entering into any sales or finance contract with an individual, business entity, charitable organization--anyone.” http://www.patriotdealer.com/background.cfm I understand it's not fun to share personal information and I'm sure you were figuring you would not have to do this since you already had your financing arranged. We are sorry for the miscommunication. If there had been a better away to approach this, we would have done so. This is something we are looking into; letting our customers that have arranged financing aware that there will be a few additional form to fill out for OFAC. Again, we are very sorry that you had a negative experience with us. Its feedback such as yours that only makes our dealership grow.
