Dropped my vehicle off to be serviced due to check engine light being on the vehicle. Mind me a purchased? It less than 3 months prior was sold and extended warranty and it was told after they looked at the light being on the vehicle. Mind me a purchased? It less than 3 months prior was sold and extended warranty and it was told after they looked at the car that it was just a battery and that the extended warranty would not cover the diagnostics of $199 due to the lack of communication of Joe the service manager I had to pay $199 on top of a battery that they charged me $300 for I would stay clear of this dealership. They are very dishonest and very nasty. They contacted me that my vehicle is ready. I went down there, paid for the service and it took them over 25 minutes to get the keys to the car and bring my car around to the front and the service employee got nasty and told us to bring the car to toyota mind me. We bought the car at the Volkswagen dealer 3 months prior More
Miguel was easy to work with and very accommodating. The process of leasing the vehicle, however, was painfully slow. In total, it took about 5 hours at the dealership which was less than ideal. Run, don't walk away from this dealership. The Finance manager is a liar. The terms I was told and agreed to verbally were not the terms they put on the contract. I own a VW that was purchased elsewhere. I brought it into this dealership for scheduled services. I previously had taken it to the old Atlantic VW across the street. Since they moved, mecha I brought it into this dealership for scheduled services. I previously had taken it to the old Atlantic VW across the street. Since they moved, mechanical issues that never happened before often occurred immediately following oil changes and inspections that would cause me to have to return to pay for repairs. I chalked this up to coincidence. Then I decided to get into a new car and scheduled a test drive through BDC. I test drove two different models, and I really liked one. The salesperson told me that they didn't have much inventory but had more coming in the following week. I told the salesperson that I was checking out a few other brands and asked that he call me to touch base the following week. I've been watching their inventory online, and they got in exactly what I was looking for. But I never received a call back. It didn't exactly make me feel like a valued customer. I don't really care about that, I am just interested in the right vehicle. And I've driven VW's for a long time. It's their loss, I have great credit and was planning on putting down close to 50%, not counting my trade in. I already landed on a vehicle at a dealership that was happy to take my business. More
I went in to the showroom today (09/13/23) around lunch, to see if I can take my leased 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport R Line and have it financed to own since I love the truck so much. So I met Craig (salesman) to see if I can take my leased 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport R Line and have it financed to own since I love the truck so much. So I met Craig (salesman) and he was a very nice gentleman and went over everything from soup to nuts in telling me what I needed to do to make it all happen. Craig made me very comfortable, and I was thinking and hoping this would be seamless. My thought was that I wanted to shed some money off my current (monthly payment) lease with no issues if I had to extend through the financing of the truck. So when it came time to meet with the finance manager (Arthur) is when the shenanigans, turmoil and antics started. The finance manager (Arthur) who seemed very nice proceeds to tell me that my truck would be an additional 210.00 per month then what I am paying on my current lease and my finance would be for 75 months. With everything being said he tells me my finance charge would be 13.95% and I would be paying over $ 57,000.00 dollars for a car that is already 2.5 years old. The original sticker on the truck was only 46K. So I left the dealership after saying no thank you to the proposed new deal to finance my existing truck. The finance manager (Arthur) then calls me 30 minutes later asking me to bring in my truck for an appraisal and he could put me into a brand new truck for less then what I am paying now with 15K in miles (lease) because there is probably lots of equity in my existing truck. If there is lots of equity in my existing truck then why cant it be applied for a lease to finance purchase??? Hmmmmmmm! Beware going in there since this is not my first issue with the finance team. When I originally leased my truck when they were in the old building, the finance manager back then tried to hit me up with a shady deal by jacking up my down payment & my lease payment not knowing I had made the deal the night before with the manager of all the sales manager. Just be careful everyone!!!! Todays update 09/14/23, I receive a call from the VW of West Islip public relations person (Samir) looking to make amends and see if we can get a deal done in exchange for a better review of the dealership and my experience. I told Samir "proof is in his actions" so Samir said he would call me shortly to let me know. I said fine. I received a call about a half an hour later to find out my pay off was just over 32K and If I was to finance that without their dealer fees and finance charges it would be $ 460.00 a month. He then proceeds to start to asking me for a down payment money but then shifts gears to me leasing a new vehicle which would take me to the low 600's per month. He almost had a deal and then went and screwed it all up and I don't know why??? So my thought is why was my truck over $ 57,000.00 yesterday according to Arthur the finance manager which was 760.00 per month for 75 months but today the same exact truck is only $ 32,000.00 plus fees and financing??? Then I was thinking why would a dealer who is looking to get the negative review off their website continuing to make the existing issue even worse??? It never ends when it comes to this garbage. People, please listen to me if you love VW's like i do PLEASE be VERY VERY aware of what your getting into with this dealership. They not only lost my business forever, but they also lost my girlfriends business who is coming out of her lease this month. Lastly, from yesterday to today the dealership ran my credit again today (09/14/23) when first I didn't give this dealership approval to do so but wait it gets better they ran my credit report multiple times as my bank and a couple of my credit card companies informed me via text and email updates on how many times my credit report was ran. I guess there was a huge difference on my credit between yesterday and today. Someone has to do better!!! More
I called to inquire about a $16,000 Mercedes C300. Mark explained that there are about $4,000 in additional fees. That price would also increase if we didn't finance with West Islip. I felt like the p Mark explained that there are about $4,000 in additional fees. That price would also increase if we didn't finance with West Islip. I felt like the price was misleading. Mark was extremely condescending. He explained that I must be blind not to be able to read the fine print that described these fees. He added that a 4th grader should be able to understand their marketing. I appreciate Mark not holding back as it saved me a trip to this dealership. More
