My husband and I were reviewing our options for a leased car. Our current lease ends in a month and we were not 100% sure on what we wanted to now lease. We had never considered a Volkswagon, but decided to have a look. A friend recommended Union Volkswagon. We phoned to speak to them during the day and set up an appointment for last evening. They phoned us to follow up with the appointment. Though we were running late, they never made us feel rushed in any way. We were extremely impressed with the dearlership. It was a beautiful building. They could not have been more helpful. All we spoke to were very friendly and courteous. When we mentioned that our 17year old driver would also be driving the car, Nabil was extremely knowledgable and reviewed all of the safety features of Volkswagon in general and the Passat. There was a lot that we never knew about a Volkswagon. We did end up leasing a car and plan to pick up sometime next week. I would truly recommend Union Volkswagon. More
I originally spoke to a gentleman named Cedric,he seemed like he was trying to help. But,Then I was switched to his manager, when I guess they felt he was running into difficulties with my negotiating price-h like he was trying to help. But,Then I was switched to his manager, when I guess they felt he was running into difficulties with my negotiating price-hey times are hard I'm looking for the best deal I can get-Some guy George who was condescending and extremely arrogant got on the line.He told me the other prices the competing dealers gave me are just lies and figments of their imagination, the gall of this guy,he wasn't even listening to me he was just talking over me,he didn't even care when I told him I would go back to the first dealer(don't these guy's work on commission?).The two other dealers to which I talked were a lot more diplomatic and respectful.I was willing to give these guys a shot ,though, after reading all the good reviews but honestly after the way I was treated I went to the first dealer, I dealt with, the salesman was mature ,very respectful and gave me the deal that he originally quoted me.I recognize everybody has to make money and I feel I got a fair deal, but most important I was treated with respect.I couldn't even get good treatment from the management-I"LL NEVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN,I LOVE MY NEW PASSAT ,THOUGH. I had the DPF light come on driving my 2011 VW golf TDI in from Canada so we took it to Union VW. They ran "diagnostics" which cost $125 and said it was a bad O2 sensor. They were also insistent that it in from Canada so we took it to Union VW. They ran "diagnostics" which cost $125 and said it was a bad O2 sensor. They were also insistent that it needed to be changed. The car was only 2.5 years old (27K miles) and still had a valid Basic Limited Warranty in Canada but Union Volkswagen refused to honour it because they said it was "too much hassle" to put in a claim to Volkswagen Canada. We even showed them our warranty which we keep in the glove box and the VW Canada Website which both explicitly stated that the Canadian warranty is valid in the USA and is covered. Meanwhile I called my dealership in Ontario with the errors codes and they told me that it would be fine to drive the car home (~9 hours) and they would be happy to service it under warranty. Not only that, but I also asked what the price of the part(1k0998262AE) was. They said 271 CAD plus probably about an hour of labour (there shop rate is ~105 CAD and hour), so I don't know how Union VW came up with a quote of nearly $600 in addition to the $125 diagnostic fee. After getting off the phone with my dealership I told Union I would take my chances with taking my car home and getting it fixed there but they said they had already changed the part and we had to pay them or they were going to put it back up on the lift, pull the new part and put the old one back in. I explicitly told them NOT to do the work after the results of the diagnostics came back so I would have a chance to call my local dealership. However they did it anyway and tried to force me to pay for it. After much arguing they finally gave us the part and labour for free. Maybe these guys are fine if you are from the US but Canadians beware. It seemed like they were trying to take advantage of the fact that we were there out of country to try and squeeze every last penny out of us. More
I recently purchased a Volkswagen GLI and I had a bad experience with the transaction. After I bought the car, I tried to schedule a 500 mile courtesy check up and that was another nightmare. At first I experience with the transaction. After I bought the car, I tried to schedule a 500 mile courtesy check up and that was another nightmare. At first I called to make an appointment which I thought was already made and I was told that there was nothing about me in their schedule when I thought it was arranged the day I bought the car. So apparently the person who was in charge of the check up was busy and I was told I would be getting a call back. I never received a call back so I called them again at the close of their business day and I was given a temporary date for the check up and then told that I would be called before that Wednesday to confirm. Needless to say, I was never called. I did not feel very appreciated as a new customer at that point and I did not feel valued as a person either. I waited a whole week until I had to call them again to try and schedule an appointment. I feel that it should not be that difficult to schedule a me as a new customer when I had quite a few choices of where to purchase and service my new vehicle and I chose the dealership which was not the closest one to my house. If I did not call back I am sure the appointment would still not be fulfilled. When I finally got the appointment schedule and done with I noticed that there were things wrong with my car that were either not there before or were overlooked by the people who inspected my car. There seems to be some kind of stain on the carpet in the middle of the front seats of the car. It looks like it might be some water damage coming in front the middle or the bottom of the car. I am not sure if it was part of the Zylon process that did that to the carpet or if it was something else but I am pretty sure that the carpet should not be off-colored like that. I do hope that it can be resolved as soon as possible. More
