Had issue with a recall that was performed in 2019 on a leaking fuel filter…. Fixed with cellophane tape per VW corporate decision. That fix was done at a Southern California dealership. It failed when I moved up to Oregon.I was told the warranty ran out on the fix. (How do they warranty sticky tape?) anyway, a bad combination of a, not to sharp service manager and a bad corporate decision. I was told by coworkers to never go to that dealership, it’s known to be the worst in Salem. More
They are horrible, left my windows down while it was pouring rain for a week straight, and killed my battery, tried to jump the car and it no longer would start due to them not properly putting the car pouring rain for a week straight, and killed my battery, tried to jump the car and it no longer would start due to them not properly putting the car back together, this place is horrible would not recommend. Asked to find why not starting. Now wants me to have it towed again and pay another inspection fee. Like bait and switch. they didn’t bother to find the real reason it wasn’t starting in the first visit. Told me they don’t “work for free” I should have said I don’t “pay money for free”. Bad business More
Came here to get my window fixed, they said they'd be able to look at it in a few days, I hear nothing after a few days so I asked for an update. 2 or 3 more times they said it would be ready and failed able to look at it in a few days, I hear nothing after a few days so I asked for an update. 2 or 3 more times they said it would be ready and failed to update me at all while letting me pay $35/day for a rental. If I knew from the beginning that it would take 2 weeks to fix a window, I wouldn't have gotten the rental. I would have waited until they had the part. I just kept thinking, "oh it'll only be a couple more days", but nope. I also shouldn't have to feel like I'm pestering them to get an update about my car. In the end, 70% of the price was labor. They didn't even fix the window correctly (it catches on the door when opening) and it was $1400 total. Pretty insane to charge someone $1400 and not even fix a measly window correctly. Very very disappointed. More
Way overpriced tries to sell you things you don't need wanted to charge me over $150 to do my cabin air filter and cleaning went to a different dealership they sold me the cabin air filter for $32 and cha wanted to charge me over $150 to do my cabin air filter and cleaning went to a different dealership they sold me the cabin air filter for $32 and change and then the service writer installed it for me for no charge More
Peter our salesman was great to work with. He was knowledgeable of the cars we were searching for. The whole team made this a great experience for my first time buyer daughter. Worst experience I've had at a dealership. Little communication. First the repair was under warranty, then a couple hours into the repair it wasn't under warranty. David Quarels is the worst. Little communication. First the repair was under warranty, then a couple hours into the repair it wasn't under warranty. David Quarels is the worst. He claims he communicates, but I ended up doing most of the communication work. He says he'll get back to you, but days later you haven't heard anything. If it wasn't for the warranty being through Lithia Motors, I wouldn't go to VW of Salem. Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced. Stay away from VW of Salem and especially David Quarels. He will continuously lie to you and never get the job done. I haven't tried the Honda or BMW, but will NEVER go back to VW of Salem, until David Quarels is gone. This is not the job for him. More

Josh was patient and attentive. We would all like more prompt parts availability from the manufacturer, but we were kept up to speed as that rare part became available.
