I made an appointment for my car to receive an oil change and have a new tire installed over a week in advance (for 2pm). I arrived for my appointment (early) and was told my car wouldn’t be looked at until and have a new tire installed over a week in advance (for 2pm). I arrived for my appointment (early) and was told my car wouldn’t be looked at until 5 or 6pm that day, which presented a tremendous inconvenience for me. The reason, I was told, was that they were backed up with walk-in appointments. Well, I made my appointment more than a week in advance, so I think mine should have taken priority. If I made my appointment well in advance, why should customers who just walk in be in front of me in line? What’s even the point of making any appointment in the first place if that’s the case? I was then told that when I make an appointment, the appointment is not actually for my car be to worked on, but rather for me to talk to someone in the office in person and arrange for it to be worked on that day. Frankly, that makes no sense to me, and is patently ridiculous. If that’s how they handle “appointments”, then it doesn’t seem like there’s any point in making one at all. If every appointment is handled like a walk-in, then there’s no such thing as having one in the first place. More
