My wife and I were interested in buying a car and called the dealership to see if they had the model we wanted. They did, they told us the price, and after a few phone calls to confirm everything, we told t the dealership to see if they had the model we wanted. They did, they told us the price, and after a few phone calls to confirm everything, we told them we would be driving in from out of town to get it that day and we’d let them know when we were on the road. I went to the bank to get a car loan setup, we got the car packed up, hit the road, and my wife calls to let them know we’re on our way when they suddenly say the manager wants to talk to us. He gets on the phone and says that there is a premium for the car we want and he will be marking the price up by $20,000! Twenty thousand—$20K! That’s after the dealership had already quoted us a reasonable price and we had a loan approved for it! We were shocked, disappointed, and very frustrated. We passed on the car and didn’t buy it, and the whole thing has left us extremely disappointed in this dealership. I know its a tough market for car buyers right now, but what they did was dishonest and they tried to take advantage of us by upping the price after they had already reeled us in to buy the car. People should be aware before they try to buy a car from them. More
