Secured a GR Corolla at close to MSRP that I was shopping for over a year. Because I am located in Washington, Evan was supposed to overnight a FEDEX package with a return envelope for me to sign some papers and include a cashiers check for the agreed amount. Two weeks passed and I still never received this FEDEX package. Evan did not bother to respond to any of my voicemails or phone calls. However, the sales person Brittany was fantastic and had great communication. She let me know Evan made a mistake and somehow never sent the FEDEX package. Keep in mind I had already purchased a one way flight to Florida for over $200 and secured days off to be able to drive the car back to Washington. The deal ended up having to fall through because this dealer would only accept a wire transfer and due to working 50+ hour weeks I missed the deadline (I only had a couple days notice after they realized I never was sent a FedEx package and we were getting close to the purchase date) my bank requires an in person visit to submit a wire for security purposes. I did not have time to stop by the bank during business hours during this two day last minute deadline Toyota Village gave me. This dealer did not even offer to have me pay straight cash which is how I’ve purchased all my other cars at Dealerships and I offered to pay cash… OR I could have even used a verifiable cashiers check that you can call the bank and verify the check is valid… It does not seem like the Evan the finance manager or this dealership in general wants my business. It’s already stressful enough buying a car from out of state but it’s even worse when the finance manager drops the ball so many times. I work in finance and I would never drop the ball that many times with a client. Perhaps if he had simply sent me the FedEx package overnighted last week (or I think 2 weeks ago?!) we would not even be in this position. Thankfully everything ended up being okay as I found a GR Corolla in my own state for a similar price except it’s fully loaded and has all three available packages and this dealer’s GR had zero packages. Please reimburse me my $200+ flight ticket due to the incompetence of the finance manager. More
