Scope of work was misrepresented. I came in for for several recalls on my 2011 Ram 1500. Since I was coming in for the recalls, I wanted to address other issues my truck was having. I told my service a several recalls on my 2011 Ram 1500. Since I was coming in for the recalls, I wanted to address other issues my truck was having. I told my service advisor that my engine was making some strange noises in addition to my AC control not turning on and also my tire service light was on. I was told to diagnose the tire issue, there would be no charge but for the engine and AC $200 diagnoses fee would apply for each to a total of $400, which I agreed. After several days I was told that my engine needed to be replaced because of the mileage on the truck. My engine was recently rebuilt, so the odometer has no relevance on the state of the engine. No actual diagnoses was performed, rather a conclusion was made simply because of the odometer reading. When I confronted my service advisor, he agreed to not charge for the engine diagnoses as no diagnoses was actually performed rather an inference based on mileage. Secondly, with respect to the AC I was told I needed a new ac control that would be around $600, which I declined and paid $200 for the diagnoses. After leaving the dealer, I went to autozone changed the relevant fuses and the AC control is working fine again. This service department is untrustworthy making recommendations not based on any mechanical evaluation but rather what seems to be a total replacement if something t isn’t working without a proper explanation. My concern is for the people who are not as informed about the inter workings of a vehicle and can be fraudulently induced into paying for a service/repair that has no merit. I demand a refund of the phony diagnoses of my AC, as it did not need to actually be replaced as stated. I have asked for the head of service to call me now and I have been waiting for weeks. I have even texted my service advisor to which my messages continue to be ignored. I was in the market for a new Ram but because of this experience I will be looking to another brand. If this dealership is representative of the experience a customer should expect when owning a Ram vehicle, I advise the public to carefully rethink their choice. More
