I recently purchased a vehicle from Van Hyundai in Carrollton, part of the Berkshire Hathaway Automotive group. They informed me that the vehicle had been repossessed in Ohio but not to worry that it’ Carrollton, part of the Berkshire Hathaway Automotive group. They informed me that the vehicle had been repossessed in Ohio but not to worry that it’s not an issue and they would handle the registration and titling. Two months after the purchase I received a letter from Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) stating that the previous title was issued as “Exempt” which did not meet the requirements of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for odometer disclosure and as a result TxDMV applied a “NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE” brand to my title. This will make this vehicle extremely difficult to trade or sell anytime in the future. I contacted Van who said it’s not their problem and I need to take it up with TxDMV. TxDMV says the previous trade was not process in accordance with NHTSA requirements so they can’t issue a CLEAN title. I also contacted Ohio DMV and learned that the title had been branded “Exempt” as a result of the repossession. I would expect a hassle like this from a small fly by night used car place but not from a large company like Van Hyundai, they failed to deliver a clean title. Buyer beware. More

Service advisor was nice. The amount of items they said were wrong with my 2yr old car were false. They said the fromt radar was out and would not file it under warranty becau The amount of items they said were wrong with my 2yr old car were false. They said the fromt radar was out and would not file it under warranty because it was fully broke. funny thing is, i took it to a place for a second opinion and it was not fully broke it just needed recalibration. They also said the sub frame was bent and needed to be replaced, funny this is i took it to get a second opinion and nothing was bent. they also said the uncarriage cover was missing, which meant they never replaced it the last time they worked on the car but yet still wanted to charge me to replace it. So the $7k estimate that they said was wrong with my car turned out to be less than $1k at the second opinion shop. Be very careful of this place, they will take advantage of you and won’t turn anything in on warranty when it is clearly a warranty issue. Heck even Hyundai told them to turn it in on warranty and they told them they weren’t going to do it. Calibration is under warranty, for the record! More
