Let me start out by saying that I have purchased two vehicles now from this dealership. I am not impressed at all with there inspections prior to sales. Round one I purchased a car and put new tires on vehicles now from this dealership. I am not impressed at all with there inspections prior to sales. Round one I purchased a car and put new tires on it immediately, while in the shop the owner told me both front wheel bearings were very loose and in need of replacement, which were replaced at my expense. Round two I was in the market for a truck. While on the test drive I heard a clunking noise coming from the front steering and suspension. Then I noticed the antifreeze overflow bottle to be empty. I set up an appointment the next day to discuss our options. When confronted they stated "I'm sure it's fine". I expressed concern again reference these problems, which they continuously stated it was fine. Finally after debating it out for three hours in the dealership they agreed it had problems, and had there technicians look into these problems. The shop was unable locate any problems. I further expressed my concern. They agreed to give me a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty included in the purchase price. Once I arrived home I looked to see if I could locate the problems myself. I noticed the front swaybar links to be bent, I replaced them and the clunk went away. I started to apply pressure to the radiator and immediately I noticed a leak coming from a loose radiator hose clamp, I tightened the clamp and the leak is gone. My salesman called and I made him aware of my findings, After several days they agreed to pay for the parts which I had installed. I then noticed my muffler to have a large hole in it. At this point I have less than 1,000 miles put on my new truck. When confronted they stated that to be normal wear and tear. I advised my salesman I had a warranty, and further advised him my window sticker stated there was not any steering suspension, cooling system, or exhaust system problems. They blew me off again on my issues and I never heard from them again. Again not at all impressed with the customer service or there service department. More
I was looking for a used Prius to combat my awful city commute and looked all over the Chicagoland area. Van Horn had by far the best price. I had done enough shopping to encounter plenty of pushy salesme commute and looked all over the Chicagoland area. Van Horn had by far the best price. I had done enough shopping to encounter plenty of pushy salesmen, but Brandon was really great; and he listened to what I needed out of a vehicle.I bought my car on a Friday evening and many of the staff were willing to stay past closing time so I could finish the transaction. I felt I was making the best choice and was very happy I went with Van Horn. Overall, it was a great experience. More
I contacted kelly about the car. She stated the car had no dents, dings, and a clean carfax and that it was in excellent shape being a 2011 sonata. She told this to me and my friend cause she was on speake no dents, dings, and a clean carfax and that it was in excellent shape being a 2011 sonata. She told this to me and my friend cause she was on speakerphone. We were 1/2 way down there and she called and said it was in a MINOR accident. I stated that was not that big of a deal and continued on my way down with my friend excited i was going to get a new car of course. We get there and the car was in the back getting paint-work done to it. My drive was 3 hours there and she knew i was coming and waited till i got down there to do this paint work. So she said go to applebees on us. I said ok that sounds nice. So 1 hour later we came back from eating and the car still wasnt done. We waited another 1 hour before the car was finally ready to look at for the 1st time. We go outside and look at it. there are scrathes all over the rims, 2 nice dents, front bottom bumper missing all the paint, and the airbox for the airfilter was broke. We agreed on a price of 19,500 out the door with everything before I got there, but that was not knowing there were all these issues with the car. I drove it and it ran just fine. We come back and it was like pulling teeth to get the price at 19,500 which we agreed on. I wanted it cheaper though cause of the issues that she didnt state to me. My friend and I never seen the window sticker and it was never on the car. I was there a total of 8 hours.... I bought the car cause it was still a decent deal SO I THOUGHT. It took 10 days just to get my money for the applebees lunch.1 week later I took it to ken vance hyundai in eau claire wi to get the airbox replaced since van horn didnt inspect the car at all and as soon as they started looking at the car they said the car had no clearcoat on the hood and front bumper. It took them 5 minutes to notice this but you guys couldnt. INTERESTING. They asked for my paperwork and I found the ORIGINAL window sticker shoved way in the back of the glovebox. It stated frame damage on that form and the dealer didnt want to replace the airbox because of the MAJOR accident in the front. They advised me to get a lawyer which I should have and still might because I wasnt disclosed this information which i should have been. The orignal window sticker doesnt have my signature on it and is NOT the same window sticker that van horn forged my name on and never gave me a copy until i asked for one threw email. They also forged my name on a frame work disclosure form which I never saw and would have NEVER bought the car with frame damage which i got threw email as well. Look at the form for yourself and you will notice the date is the exact same writing next to my name to the guy from your dealerships under mine. My friend was there the whole time and will verify this if need be. I never paid tax on my extended warranty i bought and the paperwork was all wrong. The DMV form ammount was lower than what it was supposed to be and states that it is a crime to understate the price. My friend owns a car dealership up in eau claire and helped me with all this paperwork and noticed all these issues and could tell my name was forged before i even noticed. I called van horn in plymoth when i found out all this and informed dick strong who is the general manager of operations for the whole van horn dealers the way fon du lac does business. He said he would do whatever it takes to make it right and directed me to talk to mike tasche who is the general manager of sheboygan van horn. I traveled with my dad to sheboygan which is a 4 hour drive because mike said he would make it right. I showed him all my paperwork and he stated to me and my dad that there was going to be consiquences for the way they did this transaction and he did acknowledge that there was something seriously wrong. He got me into a new 14' mazda6 and gave me the car for around 24,000 and this car was a 29500 dollar car for the huge inconvenience. I stated to him that the only way i would do this deal is if he would make sure fon du lac doesnt continue to do things this way and stated he would take care of it. 20 days later I looked on van horn of fon du lac website inventory and seen that mike made the fon du lac store buy the car back since he lost a lot of money on the deal. The car shows that you guys never fixed the airbox still which shows your GREAT INSPECTORS and continue to screw customers over because you wont tell the customer that it has frame damage and other issues. Your still selling the car for around 19,000 which is rediculous for a car that was in a major accident. All this is why i am persuing all options to make sure it doesnt continue to hurt other people. I dought anything will change but why would i waste my time and type this long letter if i didnt feel screwed and didnt care. Thank you for your time and hope SOMEONE cares. More

WOW. Please be very careful when attempting to buy anything from this dealership. Or even eating the cookies. To sum it up; very unprofessional, unethical, and very uneducated about the inventory. We anything from this dealership. Or even eating the cookies. To sum it up; very unprofessional, unethical, and very uneducated about the inventory. We felt like we were on a hidden camera TV show. Wasted a whole Saturday after driving 45 mins, only to walk out with nothing besides an excuse that the bank was closed and that we couldn't see the vehicle we came to BUY because "it wasn't ready". This was after an appointment was set and rescheduled earlier that week. I would love to continue but, moving on as quickly as possible is our best decision. No car, No service, NO WAY. KEEP LOOKING! Purchased a newer used truck from this dealership. I live out of state (SD) where paper titles are still used. The dealer had an electronic title but claimed that I would receive a copy in the mail so live out of state (SD) where paper titles are still used. The dealer had an electronic title but claimed that I would receive a copy in the mail so I could register the vehicle. Dealer showed no concerns about being able to register within 30day deadline. Later, 30 days were around the corner and I called to verify what was going on because I hadn't received anything copy of title to register the vehicle. They claimed they sent the title to the bank. I then called the bank and they said they didn't see anything. Call back to the dealership and felt like I got the run around. Then called my county treasurer and had them try to sort it out. We then faxed a request to the bank for the title due to my state needing a paper title. Long story short, I have already had extension of paper plates expire and cannot apply for new paper plates again as it is a one time extension from county courthouse. I now can't drive my truck "legally" to work because I can't get another extension of paper pates...which makes my life very difficult at the moment. If you purchase a vehicle from in state you might be fine. If you are out of state I would do some serious talking with them before signing papers. Once you sign it seems the vibe they throw out is they no longer care and just want to get off the phone with you. More
Hyundai has a very good reputation for warranty coverage. Sales people are very helpful but not pushy. Good selection of vehicles. Reputation for the follow-up care of the car is very good. Very friendly and made big promises. Did the bait and switch with the car. Pushed a pricy car - and was rude when we said we could not afford and realized they would not get the sale. switch with the car.
