Leasing my xc40 at University Volvo was such a good experience. It wasn't the "typical" experience that you would have at a car dealership (in a good way) because I never felt pressured to make a decis experience. They worked with me through every step until I felt comfortable with my decision. I would recommend them to anyone if they are looking to buy or lease a Volvo. Also, I am in love with my car! Let’s face it, for most of us the process of buying a car is right up there with paying taxes and having a root canal. I had been putting it off for nearly a year because the thought of playing the ‘let me t is right up there with paying taxes and having a root canal. I had been putting it off for nearly a year because the thought of playing the ‘let me take it to my manager’ game was just dreadful. I researched every pricing site and every Volvo dealership in w/in 300 miles. After being beat up and lied to by the stereotypical used car salesman at dealerships in Wilm. and Charleston, I drove 3.5 hrs to University Volvo. Rather than being ambushed by a salesmen whose only concern was his paycheck, I entered a clean, modern showroom where I met Daniel Lechner. Daniel was personable, patient, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable—exactly what I wanted and needed. Look, I’m not an easy customer to begin with and entering a dealership automatically puts me into ‘full battle gear’ mode. Daniel never flinched as I asked more questions than a toddler! He answered each one honestly, completely and concisely. Never once did I feel intimidated, nor get the feeling he was trying to ‘sell’ me. He gladly provided keys to many vehicles enabling me to look at every detail and difference, offering honest advice and opinions when asked hence helping me narrow down my options. Offering different test drive routes and conditions, we test drove two vehicles. During the drive I discovered that Daniel had been with Volvo for 13 years and had extensive experience on both the service and sales sides! My comfort level grew with Daniel and I slowly began disarming that ‘full battle gear’ attitude. We sat down with no pressure and negotiated what I felt was a fair deal. Unlike the two other dealerships I had previously visited, things moved along in a timely, efficient manner and I was not left sitting for long periods, feeling my time was being wasted. When I sat down with the Finance Director, AJ Varrochione, each document was explained, every question and scenario answered. Did AJ try to sell me an extended warranty? Yes, but he explained the advantages and benefits without scare tactics and pressure. To be accurate, he ‘offered’ the warranty options rather than trying to ‘sell’ me. Offering warranties is part of his job and although historically it’s been another consumer red flag for me, he presented the products in a professional and knowledgeable manner and it was appreciated. While signing paperwork with AJ, Daniel continued to provide 5 star service by having my new XC60 detailed and fulfilling all the commitments he made to me. Bear in mind, this was at or after closing time and after spending 4+ hours with me (the picky, skeptical, pessimistic customer from h*ll). University Volvo provided an outstanding customer experience before, during and after the sale. Daniel Lechner was not only an absolute pleasure to work with but a true professional in his field. Volvo makes a wonderful vehicle (this is not my first, nor will it be my last). University Volvo provided a pleasant, positive buying experience like no other. They have EARNED my loyalty and my recommendation. More
