Paid for options not installed in car. Dealership was very deceptive. They had me sign a form that said that I was aware that the options were not included. Took advantage of a young female buyer. Financ very deceptive. They had me sign a form that said that I was aware that the options were not included. Took advantage of a young female buyer. Finance manager distracted me by trying to have me buy an extended warranty. Did not honor USAA pricing. Got nothing for my trade in. Reviewed paperwork when I got home and the prices did not match what I was quoted. Dealer fees were listed as delivery fees. Shared dealership with Nissan. Dealer that sold me the car knew nothing about the car. He usually sells on the Nissan side. More
Although I have never really been a Hyundai fan per se, I can’t express what a great buying experience that I recently had at Universal Hyundai. I am so impressed with my 2010 Sonata and I feel like I got th can’t express what a great buying experience that I recently had at Universal Hyundai. I am so impressed with my 2010 Sonata and I feel like I got the price I wanted and researched prior to coming in. I have not seen quite as much enthusiasm as the staff at Universal, even if seemed fake at time I did appreciate the effort on their part. I’m glad that there are still good dealerships around that are helpful and friendly. More
My wife & I went to purchase a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra. I had done research and got the lowest price which they were able to match and Beat. The buying experience was pleasant and the sales guys (Bob & Ray I had done research and got the lowest price which they were able to match and Beat. The buying experience was pleasant and the sales guys (Bob & Raymond ) we friendly and answered all our questions. I would recommend the dealership to others and would go back when I need another car in the future. More
I’ve been thinking about getting a new car for myself for a while. I visited a Hyundai store closest to my house, but did not really like the people, the salesman were always staring at me, pressuring me wit a while. I visited a Hyundai store closest to my house, but did not really like the people, the salesman were always staring at me, pressuring me without even saying a word five hundred feet away, so I decided to look for cars the modern way, via internet and I am glad I did. I found the best price for a Sonata Universal Hyundai although it is pretty far from home it was worth the trip! My wife and I were greeted by a very clean gentleman who only seemed interested in what I wanted. My wife enjoyed the test drive and I got the car I wanted for the price I wanted. This place gets a five star for the good experience and pleasant vibes from the people. I will be coming back in a few months when my wife’s lease expires. More
My spouse and I purchased a Sonata from Universal last week. This is a very popular model apperantly and is difficult to find in the exact configuration I was looking for. Universal went out of their way week. This is a very popular model apperantly and is difficult to find in the exact configuration I was looking for. Universal went out of their way to help us locate the exact model with the options we were looking for, for the price we had negotiated as if the car was in their inventory. They took care of us and were very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend them to anyone. More
I live two hours away from Universal Hyundai. I called the dealer to ask if they had an SUV with low mileage that I could walk away with for $18,500 cash, including all taxes and fees. I was assured by a the dealer to ask if they had an SUV with low mileage that I could walk away with for $18,500 cash, including all taxes and fees. I was assured by a person on the phone that they definitely had a car that fit that description. They had a 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe with 24,000 miles. I had originally said that I wanted under 20,000 miles, but I stated again that if I could get the car for $18,500 cash with no financing, I would like the car. They told me to come down and buy the car. After driving two hours, the car had close to 25,000 miles and they wanted almost $20,000 for it. Explaining to Victor once more that I could only spend $18,500, he went from extremely friendly to the worst salesman I have ever experienced in my life. After telling him again and again that it had to be $18,500 because the money was a conditional gift and we could not buy a car over $18,500 or we would not get the money, he then suggested we basically lie to the people giving us the money and finance the rest. I told him I was not going to lie to anyone. He then said he would think about giving us the car for the price we wanted, but only after we gave him a down payment. At 9:00 o'clock at night, with no guarantee that he would actually sell us the car and no checkbook on us (we had planned on using a debit card without knowing they didn't use cards for transactions that large), we said we would arrive with a check the next morning for the full dollar amount of $18,500 to buy the car if he could give us the price he promised over the phone and had us drive two hours for. He then threw his pen, began talking down to myself and my fiance, saying he didn't "get us" and we "didn't make any sense" and why did we even bother coming? Why would we walk away from such a great deal? What was wrong with us? When I told him we came because he promised $18,500, he said "Man, you're not helping me out. What are you doing for me?" At this point we decided to leave as his rant against us continued. For some reason my fiance still felt it necessary to remain friendly and try and shake Victor's hand. Victor glared at him and clenched his fist before shaking his hand. The manager watched all of this happen without a word. Needless to say, we didn't buy a car from them, and bought a nicer car at the price we wanted at a dealer closer to home less than 24 hours later. I will never recommend this dealer to anyone, ever. I recently had the absolute worst and most dishonest sales process I've ever experienced at this dealership. I test drove a vehicle two times at this dealer. I negotiated a price, which included base pr sales process I've ever experienced at this dealership. I test drove a vehicle two times at this dealer. I negotiated a price, which included base price and dealer fees plus tax and tags. The terms negotiated with the salesperson on the phone were absolutely clear. He actually stated that "we'll only make $100 on this car". When I went down to do the paperwork and hand over a check, the terms of the deal were suddenly withdrawn. The salesperson and then the manager said that I "must have misunderstood". They clearly lied to me to get me down to the dealership in person so that they could talk the price up. They DID NOT HONOR THEIR COMMITMENT, THEN THEY FLAT OUT LIED ABOUT WHAT THEY SAID ON THE PHONE. THEY EVEN USED THE "WE ONLY MAKE $100 ON THIS CAR" LINE AGAIN WHEN THEY RENEGED ON THEIR COMMMITMENT. Funny thing is that I was so confident about the deal, I finalized the paperwork on the car I was driving before heading down to pick up the car. I ended up having to rent a car that day, and recounted the story to the rental car agent. What she said next was incredible. She said "I'll bet it was Universal Nissan, wasn't it?". I was floored. Shame on me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER. I should have checked this site first. I am going go blog about this experience, including links to this site. I encourage others (and there are no doubt many) with similar experience to contact me. More
I purchased a Nissan 350Z from this dealership and have since changed to another dealer because this dealer gave me the worst service I have ever received. First, my car came out of alignment and I took since changed to another dealer because this dealer gave me the worst service I have ever received. First, my car came out of alignment and I took it in to get it taken care of. They aligned it to the wrong spec and caused serious tire wear because of this. Second, my car consumes excessive oil. I dealt with this dealer for 9000 miles of consumption tests. During this period all they did was to check the oil and document the loss and top it off. All I kept hearing was that they did not believe me and that oil consumption was normal for cars. Obviously they don't know too much. The worst part is that on more than one occasion they flat out lied about the consumption rate and therefore falsified the documentation. They would record down 1/3 of a quart and it was actually 3/4. Normally they would fill it with more than they reported to make me think they were right. The last time, they screwed up and forgot to fill with 3/4 while reporting 1/3. I checked it the next morning and it was down 1/2 of quart. After this, I decided to change and try to find a trusting dealer. I have written a letter to the owner, which I have heard absolutely nothing back from and I also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against this dealership. STAY AWAY FROM UNIVERSAL NISSAN/HYUNDAI in Orlando, FL. More
