Hello, took my car(2017 330I GT w/ 27K miles) in for routine service only upon pickup to discover the check engine light was on although it wasn't when I dropped it off. The advisor at the dealership ha routine service only upon pickup to discover the check engine light was on although it wasn't when I dropped it off. The advisor at the dealership had a very convenient response, "it's just a coincidence that the light is on after service." After diagnosis of the car the next explanation was even better, "that's a common problem on these cars, I have the part in stock and can repair today!" Needless to say after having to leave work early 3 separate times and right at a 1,000 dollars I finally have my car back without a check engine light(so far) for what was only a routine service. Please be careful about choosing United BMW as a service location, although this is the closest BMW dealership to my home not the one the manufacture recommend I go to. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why they have so many loaners at this site. Will NOT return and just want to do my part and share this experience in hopes to help someone else avoid what is a lack of accountability for your vehicle while in care of this service team. More
