Buyer, beware: This was NOT the "Lexus Experience. " In early January, my aunt and I set out to purchase a vehicle from Tri-County Lexus. Initially our experience was positive. Our salesman, though " In early January, my aunt and I set out to purchase a vehicle from Tri-County Lexus. Initially our experience was positive. Our salesman, though new, was kind, accommodating and personable. Naturally, we expected a bit of a negotiation process, as we were looking for a vehicle that met my aunt's needs, while not crushing her wallet. We were also purchasing the vehicle full out, which we assumed, would make the process a bit easier. After some negotiation with Ron (one of the managers) regarding a cracked front bumper, we were able to come down to a number that we both agreed on, as well as an agreement for the front bumper to be replaced. Because of other obligations, once the deal was agreed upon, I left my aunt to finish the paperwork, as the vehicle was going to be hers. Unfortunately this is where things turned extremely sour. Upon reviewing the signed contract, she found that the dealership had changed the word from "replace" to "repair" the front bumper, which was different from our initial negotiation. No matter how hard she tried, they skated around ownership of replacing the bumper, insisting that the bumper would be "good as new." Because the down payment had already been paid and the car was in my aunt's possession, the atmosphere in working with this dealership also shifted. They refused to keep their original arrangement, insisting that replacing the bumper was not a part of our original agreement. The numbers of our negotiation, which I kept meticulous record of, were based on the bumper being replaced and each side financially contributing to that replacement. When working with dealerships, the is a level of "slyness" I always expect. They are trying to make as much money as possible. Ron, the manager, was of a different, manipulative breed of salesmen. He flat out LIED to our faces. He presented as amicable and agreeable, in order to make a sale. But once a sale was inked, he became a SNAKE. He took advantage of my aunt - a woman was trying to enjoy and reap the benefits of her hard work by purchasing the car of her dreams - once he realized that a man wasn't there to keep him accountable. He continued to lie in my face when I was forced to confront him in person. Each time he tried to lie, I called him out correctly on the misinformation he was trying to spew. After recognizing that I wasn't going to take his lies, Ron - this once happy high-fiving manager - chose not to interact with me, as he realized that I could see RIGHT through his shucking and jiving. After recognizing that Ron was set in his manipulative business practices, my aunt and I jointly decided that this establishment did not deserve her money and business. We returned the car shortly after and were "assured" by another manager, Ren, that we would receive the full down payment within a few days. It took over 10 days for my aunt to receive her refunded down payment. Why was there a delay? Because administratively, they "failed" to process the paperwork. Had my aunt not gotten her bank involved, and hounded them for days on end, that refund would still have not been processed today. After checking out their reviews on Google, I quickly recognized that my aunt and I were not alone. Many people spoke about negative experiences with Tri-County Lexus and their shady business practices. We should have known and checked Google before we stepped foot into that door. My wife and I were in the process of looking for a 2023 RX 350. We decided that we'd rather drive further out and go to an establishment that is worthy of our business then drive to Tri-County Lexus, which is 15 minutes away from our home. I've also told friends and family that are in search of a Lexus vehicle - or any vehicle - to take Tri-County Lexus off of their list as a reputable place to purchase their car. Shame on you, Ron and Tri-County Lexus, for your shady business practices and gender-based, manipulative approaches. More

I could give Tri-County Lexus ) 0 stars I would. They have a person that initially that speaks with you on the phone just to get you in, but they don't reveal that. We greed to meet at 7:00 pm, saying she leaves at 7:30 pm, to see a car that I was interested in and check out my trade-in. I showed up at 6:50 pm with my trade in and was told that person doesn't show up, "they just get you in". They said we will find you a salesperson. after about 20 minutes of waiting, a polite young man showed up and admitted he was new and couldn't help me. I'll get someone else. Another nice young man showed up and said sorry the car is no good, it's going to auction. Would you like to see a similar car 1 year newer. I said OK and another salesman came and said he would look at the trade. The car was up on a lift, and the paint had issues. I got back to the sales office and the 2nd salesman said if you really want the first car that's going to auction with battery and electric problems maybe we can fix it. no thanks. If it was fixable, it wouldn't be going to auction. They asked me about my credit twice, after I explained to them, this involves a trade-in and cash, not a loan, what part of that couldn't they understand ?The 3rd salesman who looked at the trade said, I will call you tomorrow at 1:00 pm to discuss a deal. The next day at 10:00 am, I emailed him with more questions about the second car, no answer. He never called me at 1:00 pm or any other time. I got an email from one of these salesman who said, are you looking for a good car, come to our dealership. I was just there and met with you !!! I tried several times to contact the first 2 sales people and received and email, "I will find out what is going on". I never heard back from any of them, either about the deal I proposed or the value of my trade in and it is a week, since I first walked into the dealership !!! Both cars, including the one going to auction are still online. This is the worst car buying experience I ever had !!!!! More

Went there two hours later and car was sold per their salesperson and even the sales manager. As the pressed both my son and i to purchase another vehicle and we insisted we were not interested in. 3 days later the car is still listed on line. So just called and asked for availability of the vehicle and they said come on down and take it for a test drive. Ive not seen a better example of bait and switch than this in my life. Be very cautious and I wouldn’t travel so far unless you are ready to be pushed to a different vehicle. Add to the fact that the car they try to sell us was listed online for 22k and they tacked on another 4k in ‘dealer’ costs. Was seriously a Seinfeld episode. More
I travelled from Baltimore to NJ to purchase a car I saw online. It was the worst customer service I have ever received at any dealership. First I was overcharged for the car and its been almost 4 weeks and online. It was the worst customer service I have ever received at any dealership. First I was overcharged for the car and its been almost 4 weeks and I have not received the Car Title. I was also told I would receive a check in the mail for the overcharge but nothing has come in. I have been calling daily and nobody picks the call. I have tried reaching out to the Sales Rep Melvin and the Customer Relations Manager but no response. This sort of attitude is totally unacceptable and I will not return to this delaership in future. More
