I went to Tracy Volkswagen at 9:45 for my 20k mile service, including an oil change. Even though I was slightly over the 20k limit, they initially told me it would still be covered under my 2-year pla service, including an oil change. Even though I was slightly over the 20k limit, they initially told me it would still be covered under my 2-year plan. After an hour of waiting, they changed their stance, saying I’d be charged $160, plus a 3% card fee. Since I didn’t have cash, I declined the oil change. I was also there for a sunroof issue, as it seemed off-track. They said they could handle it, so I waited three more hours. When I finally asked about my car, they said they couldn’t fix it and would need to order a part, which could take two weeks. I asked why it took three hours to tell me, and they said they’d been trying to close the sunroof but couldn’t. When I asked for compensation for the wasted time or for them to proceed with the oil change, they declined. The customer service at Tracy Volkswagen deserves a 0 out of 10. I wouldn’t return or recommend them. Aramis Dickson, who was supposed to assist me, was no help at all. If you have other options, I’d strongly suggest going to a different dealership. More
My experience at Tracy VW was nothing short of frustrating and disheartening. From the start, the sales team was dishonest, attempting to change the price we had agreed upon over the phone as soon frustrating and disheartening. From the start, the sales team was dishonest, attempting to change the price we had agreed upon over the phone as soon as we arrived at the dealership. What followed was a series of shady and unprofessional tactics aimed at wearing us down. After being made to wait for four hours, we were told that the finance person was unavailable. Two hours into our wait, my wife noticed that the finance person was actually sitting around, not doing anything. At that point, we realized they were playing games with us. When we confronted them and decided to leave, they suddenly said they could have everything ready within 15 minutes. Once we finally sat down with the finance person, he tried to tweak the numbers yet again, changing the agreed-upon price. We caught the discrepancy, and after hours of waiting, we were beyond frustrated. I told my wife that this was the final straw, and we were ready to leave. At this point, the finance person became defensive, aggressive, and unprofessional, taunting us by sarcastically pointing out that we drove from San Jose to Tracy, sat through traffic and waited for hours, only to leave over a $250 discount. He even accused us of trying to use "leaving the dealership" as a tactic to get a better deal. I calmly explained that it was about principles—if an agreement is made, it should be honored. Only then did his tone change, and he finally adjusted the price back to what we had originally agreed on. By this time, we were exhausted and didn’t want to leave without a car for our daughter, so we reluctantly went through with the purchase. Adding insult to injury, it was past 8 PM when we finished, and most of the staff, including the salesperson, had left for the day. We didn’t even receive a proper vehicle delivery or orientation. This all happened last year, and while I initially chose not to submit a review, thinking this type of behavior was common among dealerships, my recent experience at Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City has changed my mind. The professionalism and integrity at Carlsen Subaru contrasted so starkly with my experience at Tracy VW that it reopened the wound and reminded me of just how terrible that experience was. To anyone considering Tracy VW, be warned: they will use every tactic in the book to wear you down and manipulate the deal. Their lack of honesty and professionalism made this the worst car buying experience of my life. More
Zero communication from the dealer, even after reaching out several times. That level or service regarding an inquiry translates directly into what I would expect with sales and service, will not be using out several times. Bought used 2022 CRV from them. I was assured the car had an audible backup system. After getting home, found it did not. After numerous calls and attempted resolution they told me I was assured the car had an audible backup system. After getting home, found it did not. After numerous calls and attempted resolution they told me they would install one for me. However, they could only use non-OEM parts. I offered to buy 1/2 if the OEM parts so it could be installed correctly and mesh with the other sensors installed. They refused saying they could install theirs and then I could purchase the OEM parts at my cost and have Honda “Splice” into their install to replace. Idiotic! Also, canceled the Service Maintenance Plan about a month ago with Portfolio. No refund issued to Wells Fargo yet. VW will not return my numerous calls to find out status. More

I had looked at them about a year ago, and there wasn't much inventory then. Now they had over 50 of them. Kylan was the sales rep that helped me out. He knew everything about the ID.4, all the way down to max charging speeds and where the batteries are built. They had a stellar deal going on for them for leasing. Called my wife down to the dealership and she loved the car too. The whole dealership gave us the right impression. Will be coming back to Kylan and Tracy VW in the future. More

BUYER BEWARE I’m regretfully writing this review to all customers and future customers of Tracy Volkswagen. The sale experiences On 1/18/2023 I purchased a vehicle from this dealership. At first a all customers and future customers of Tracy Volkswagen. The sale experiences On 1/18/2023 I purchased a vehicle from this dealership. At first all was fine, a nice door greeting, a professional test drive, but don’t let this fool you. Once I sat down, I heard the sales team making inappropriate and insensitive jokes ranging from crude humor to horribly racist comments about the African American community. At this point I should have gone running due to the lack of professionalism indicating they don’t care about image and mannerism in their dealership. Unfortunately, I was time committed on my only free day that I bought the car and left. BIG MISTAKE. To add insult to injury they attempted to sell me a car on an empty tank of gas and balked when I asked if they can fill the tank because that is industry standard. The DMV processing nightmare Now it’s mid-February. As some may or may not know; in the state of California when any auto sale occurs, the transfer of ownership must take place in 30 days (AKA state issued registration, tags, and plates). When I called the dealer, I was met with a stone wall of “we are backed up and we will do it ASAP sorry”. After a few weeks of this I decided to visit the DMV and was shockingly informed that the vehicle was never owned by Tracy Volkswagen and is still under lien! This means that they legally cannot transfer me the ownership nor was it their car to sell! At this point I have a car on a loan that I don’t own, needs repairs that can’t be made because I don’t own it, and it’s under lien at another bank that I’ve never heard of. It's now late April I was blown off by the finance manager Michael Buffington who has seemed to given up on resolving this issue. I called the general line and was road blocked with a General Sales Manager whom gave the first name David and delivered the same empty promises of resolve. Throughout this whole process I have attempted to speak with the General Dealership Manager Patrick Connelly and have been met with “I can’t give out his number, he is not available”, and worst of all “I will have him call you” and he never does. At this point I have given up working with them, and will most likely have to sue this car dealership. I will update this review if they happen to show good faith and issue a full refund and take back the vehicle, but I’m not optimistic. More
