What a difference a service advisor makes. My service advisor yesterday Tony Van Houten was the worst representative my wife and I have had in bringing our 5 Toyota vehicles since 1984. We had My service advisor yesterday Tony Van Houten was the worst representative my wife and I have had in bringing our 5 Toyota vehicles since 1984. We had a simple 95K service which is simply an oil change and tire rotation promised for 3pm. I left several messages to get a status, call back, and ride to the dealership. Didn’t get a call back until 4:30. We missed our dinner reservation and not one word of apology. We had to walk to the back lot to get our car. And we didn’t get the car serviced! We would give zero stars if we could. I’m going to switch to Springfield Toyota for all services going forward as it is near my work. Wow, just the worst experience ever. Grand reopening here means they don’t care about customer service any more. If this is a way they treat a loyal 40-year brand customer, they’re done. More

Ourisman Toyota, the dealership, was a huge disappointment. They tacked on a $2,000 fee to the price of every vehicle for no apparent reason. I will not be back to replace my 2006 Toyota Sienna as long as this money-grab remains. More
My sales person was nice but I had a few issues. I didn’t feel like I got a good deal either. Especially bc I had come in 5 days before while looking and was offered a great deal on a new Rav 4 hybrid model xle for $38k sticker, but I wasn’t ready to buy that day and told them I’d be back. Then days later when I was able to buy they were only able to get a normal rav 4 xle for nearly the exact same price $37k. They said that availability was limited and that price was not available. Also whilst my sales guy was nice, I thought it was odd that when he showed me what was in stock in my price range on his computer that sorted it lowest to highest in price, I had to show him on his own screen a cheaper and better option than what was further down the “sorted list.” That felt misleading. Then I calculated my taxes and fees after the sales team told me what they were and added it all together in a few minutes on paper and asked them to verify it. My sales person took it to his manager to verify the numbers but they wouldn’t give me an answer on the final price for hours. Instead they just kept showing me other cars that were not in budget or not what I wanted. Then after I pretty much threatened to leave, they suddenly had a car at another dealership but still not a hybrid but my sales guy was nice enough to go get it; however, staff made us sit wait for hours for it and to wait for and the finance team. Kind of frustratingly, it looked like they were all eating lunch and I was told the sales person left to get get the car. The finance person felt genuinely nice though, so points and stars for him. But once again, the sales person who said he was leaving an hour ago to get the car hadn’t even left yet. So we wondered what he had been doing. When he did leave to finally go get the car, the department just had us sit around and wait more. It wasn’t until after an hour or so that I asked if I could just leave and come back. I kept in touch with my sales guy and he kept giving different times of his ETA which was odd. Then, there was the situation of the car trade in and title. The car I was trading in wasn’t in my name and they (the sales people) said that was fine and I could go get the title the next day. The next day after getting the car, I went to get my title and bring it back. I asked if the original owner of the title needed to be signed over to me 1st before handing it to them. The sales person said no and just to leave it on his desk. So I did. It turns out the finance team didn’t know about that situation and it delayed the process of financing. Furthermore it turned out the title should have been signed after all. That created this mess of frustration. The sales person ended up having to drive all the way over to the house of the original title owner (my dads) to have him sign over the car days later which delayed the financing submissions but didn’t delay the date of my 1st car payment. In summary, every on was nice on the surface but it didn’t feel like they genuinely had my best interest as their customer. I felt like I paid $3-5$k more then I should have and timewise I felt like I was being strung along to wait longer. I walked in the dealership at 930am and walked out with my car at 730pm. Also a few days after buying my car I found out other dealerships had RAV4 HYBRID xles for the same price I just paid. I called the dealership to point that out and they said it was too late to do anything about it, and I was “misinformed anyways.” General improvements that would have helped is that if they were simply more honest about timing of when things were going to be ready, and truly transparent about pricing and availability rather then presenting what felt more like the illusion of transparency.
