I went in to look at a Prius. I was told "there are none and none in the entire Boston area." However, they could "arrange" for me to test drive a Prius for a day for 250 dollars! Yes, I am not kiddi none and none in the entire Boston area." However, they could "arrange" for me to test drive a Prius for a day for 250 dollars! Yes, I am not kidding, the salesman, who was rude, condescending, and sneering, actually said that. It may not have helped that I went in wearing shorts and a T shirt, but guess what, if they treat a potential customer this way (I am a physician at one of the Boston area hospitals) guess how shabbily they'll treat you AFTER you buy! Anyway, I found several Prius cars at other local dealers that afternoon, who treated me nicely. (Including Acton Toyota, try them and stay away from Toyota of Watertown.) And I told my friend who bought his cars at Watertown, and now he won't. More
(They SEEMED friendly, all spring & summer, but now I know it's FAKE friendly, so that's why I put "1" above.) Summary: They were not truthful with me & strung me along. They wasted 5 months of my tim know it's FAKE friendly, so that's why I put "1" above.) Summary: They were not truthful with me & strung me along. They wasted 5 months of my time. I put $1000 down on May 4, 2006, with a 4-6-week delivery promise (that's what he said-- on my contract/receipt he wrote ASAP). I ORDERED a specific car & it seems to me they never placed the order. My salesman was a liar. I've called him often in these 5 months. He made up crap like, my car has been made, it's over in Japan, and they need to wait until they sell 5 more Prius (not just any Toyota-- needs to be 5 more Prius) in order to ship them over. (Then why couldn't he give me the vin number? He said he did not have it yet.) He said "definitely" & "of course" when I asked him about delivery dates, since I was watching the Sept. 30 tax credit deadline. He thanked me for my patience, he said he was sorry, he said if it was up to him, I'd have my car by now. He strung me along, week by week, all summer. "We're getting the next allocation next week. Yours will be in that one, I'm sure. I'll call you next week." He did not call me when he said he would. That's just rude. In early August, I asked, "Are you going to call me, whether you know anything new or not?" Yes. Okay, I'll keep my phone on. He did not call. I called him & told him he should not say he was definitely going to call if he did not intend to. So, then, in early September, he said, "I'll definitely call you on Friday to let you know what I find out." I confirmed, "So you are really going to call me?" He loves that word "definitely." He did not call. Just last week, when I asked him why he did not just tell me it might be a long wait, instead of telling me every time, "Could be tomorrow." The manager, Alex, (described accurately as militaristic with no smile by someone else in this thread), in the background said, in that condescending tone men love to use on women, "Well if she did not want Silver Pine Mica package 4, she would have had her car by now." Criticizing me for my choice is just great. I asked directly, (I was direct in every conversation & they were vague in every conversation), "Did you even place the order for my car?" And they reiterated that the car is hard to get. I got my $1000 back yesterday (well, they said a credit to my visa would take 72 hours) & I wasted my time being on their waiting list. Holly More
I had a dreadful experience trying to buy a car from this dealership. I wanted a Highlander Hybrid and needed to trade in two cars. Mikail and I agreed on a trade in price for each car. After we agreed on my dealership. I wanted a Highlander Hybrid and needed to trade in two cars. Mikail and I agreed on a trade in price for each car. After we agreed on my out of pocket price for both cars, he went out and looked at the first car and came back shaking his head, "this isn't gonna work. I can't give you that price. There is a dent in the door." Then, after constantly running to his manager, Alex, came back with an outrageous repair cost for a dent. I went out and got my own quote for the repair but they would not budge. Still, I agreed to do the deal, put down a deposit at their request and told I could pick up my new car on Friday. On Wed Mikail called to ask me to bring over the other car for Alex to see. Alex looked at it, shook his head and said this won't work and wanted $3,000 more on top of my $2,000 increase for the other car. Alex wasn't even friendly, nice about it or apologetic about not seeing the car earlier. Their tactic was to bait me then use the trade ins AFTER I agreed to a deal to whittle away at the price. It felt like a bait and switch. They set me up. Their rudeness, particularly Alex's militristic style, was very unprofessional and used to intimidate. I doubt the guy has ever smiled. He's nasty. My recommendation would be to stay away from them. You will not be treated fairly. I walked... and so should you. More

It arrived at the dealership with a significant ding/scratch and I was told by all three that I had to take the car since it was registered to me. First rule of thumb when you go to get your new car - look it over - if it isnt perfect DONT TAKE IT - dont sit in it dont start the ignition. I was lied to and taken advantage as a woman - they wanted me to get into the car and drive it - they way they wouldn't have to refund my money which they told me they could not get back. As soon as my finacee showed up the story changed...we CAN refund your money. Even before the new car got there they had no clue where it was - they didnt know if it was on a train or a truck. After all of this lying and absolutely poor customer service they had the nerve to question whether or not to compensate me with another car of the same (+$700 more in options) which was due in two weeks time. They decided to provide no compensation for all of the lying and hassle. Take my word and TAKE you money somewhere else! More
This dealer tried to screw me out of $1000. Basically I brought the car in 5 times for a squeaky noise coming from the clutch in my Toyota Tacoma over a 2 year period. The car was under warranty and they brought the car in 5 times for a squeaky noise coming from the clutch in my Toyota Tacoma over a 2 year period. The car was under warranty and they always just put some lubricant somewhere and it was OK for about a day and then it would come back just the same. Finally after the fifth time coming in and after the car was no longer under warranty they acknowledged that it was the throw out bearing in the clutch. They told me this required taking the clutch apart and replacing all the internal parts and putting it back together. They said it could NOT be done without replacing both clutch plates (complete lie) and it would cost $1000. Then I told them that I originally had the problem within the warranty 2 years prior to this time and they never fixed it so the warranty should cover the problem. So then they said "we'll cut you a deal and only charge you $700". I said "yeah right" and complained to Toyota Corporate who forced the dealer to fix the problem for free under the original powertrain warranty. So they replaced the throwout bearing but didn't do the clutch plates which they told me absolutely necessary when they thought I was going to be paying for it. Obviously that was a complete lie and I challenged them on it and they couldn't give me a straight answer. Finally when the survey from corparate was supposed to be sent to me the dealer slit the envelope and took the form out so I wouldn't get it. More
