Tried to sell me an oil pan I didn't need. Could have used a new plug or put back old one. Yes, threads in pan going bad but I was told by 3 other mechanics I trust that I didn't need a $ Could have used a new plug or put back old one. Yes, threads in pan going bad but I was told by 3 other mechanics I trust that I didn't need a $900 oil pan. Service mgr insisted they couldn't use old one before I insisted he put old back on or find a new one or have my car towed to my other mechanic. This is not the first time over the years that I was being sold something that could have been repaired but Toyota wanted to place a new, expensive Toyota part. This is a 15 year old car, low mileage and in great shape but not necessarily needing a very expensive new Toyota part instead of replacing just a plug and rethreading as necessary. More
