A mixed bag. Rafael, the salesman, was great. I found him to be personable and reliable and he was great communicating what was going on. And although, I didn' Rafael, the salesman, was great. I found him to be personable and reliable and he was great communicating what was going on. And although, I didn't get the exact car I wanted, they were upfront that they couldn't guarantee it with the on going chip shortage and whatnot. So it wasn't and isn't a huge deal that I didn't get exactly what I wanted, what I got was close enough. The rest of the people I met with, were less stellar. After meeting with Rafael I was brought to the insurance area and Taylor, who was personable, but I was pressured into bumping up my coverage needlessly, despite saying 'No thanks' multiple times. Finally, to keep the ball rolling I just said, 'Yes' just to keep the ball rolling, knowing I could and was going to just take it back down when I home. They also messed up my policy, by opening a 2nd one, when the car could've just been added on to my existing policy, and this is coming from Progressive when I spoke to them. I have the app right on my phone, I could've just added the car myself and didn't need them to do anything. After finishing with her I had to meet with Kassidy, to again, decline any add-ons. I get the commission and up selling aspects of the business, but I already declined all this when I met with Rafael, we could've saved us both the time, by honoring my wishes the first time I said 'No thanks' to the add-ons. She was personable, and I can't say anything bad about her, but again having my time wasted isn't something I'm fond of. I finally meet with the finance manager, Nicole who was very abrasive and off-putting, because I declined the any extended warranty coverage. Based on all my research, my lawyers advice, and advice from family that sold cars, extended warranties are not worth it 90%+ of the time. Therefore, I declined, and was upfront from the beginning, not wanting to waste either of our times. This still didn't stop her from still trying to sell it and trying to force it on me. Even later rolling her eyes and saying "I can't believe you don't want any extended warranty" as she was finalizing the paperwork. It literally got to the point where I was taking my phone out to call my ride to come back and get me because I was ready to back out of the deal completely. Again, I get the commission aspect, but 'no means no' and you would think women would be even more respectful of that. So overall, a mixed bag. We'll see how the service department goes when I do an oil change in a few months. More
The Toyota of Smithfield Dealership is the worst dealership to purchase, for maintenance, or to say the truth about what is needed for repairs. I spend hours there for a battery. Others in the waiti dealership to purchase, for maintenance, or to say the truth about what is needed for repairs. I spend hours there for a battery. Others in the waiting area all say the the same thing. Whrn I was waiting, there was a woman was there for an inspection, and was told she needed a light bulb and it would cost her $49.95 not to mention the cost of the inspection. They find something wrong all the time without fail. There was a time I never signed for work they charged me $636.50! It was for an oil change.i refused to pay and they did not release me car. I told them to show where my signature was, the service manager could not find one. And they had to eat the cost for their stupidity. I would warn anyone to not use this dealership because they are a dishonest dealership who is out to get every chance to make a dollar, and they have no remorse for doing so. The elder and trusting customers are just taken advantage if over and over. Sit and wait in the waiting room and listen to the disgruntled customers and what they have to say BEFORE having any service done. BEWARE! More

I was genuine enough to mentioned that I went to a tinted glass workshop to remove the tint and they kept the engine running. That should not be the reason for the battery to drain as the engine was running. Toyota Smithfield used my statement against me to deny me of manufacturing warranty for the battery and charged me 180+ dollars as diagnostic charge. I just paid 180 dollars to visit Smithfield Toyota. I do not recommend them for any repair. Afterwards, I took my car to Greico Toyota. They not only tested the battery, but also tested the battery connections and returned the car with a free car wash. They told me that they will never charge a customer for such things such as checking the battery. Toyota Smithfield only cares about how much they could grab from the customer. I will never recommend them to anybody I know.(As a side note, we bought two cars from them). More

This is by far was the worst if not the most terrible experience I've ever had with an Automotive dealership, not only that you engage in FRAUDULENT FALSE ADVERTISING which seems to be a normal practice experience I've ever had with an Automotive dealership, not only that you engage in FRAUDULENT FALSE ADVERTISING which seems to be a normal practice at your establishment TOYOTA OF SMITHFIELD but you also give FAKE offers and DECEIVE consumers in so many ways in order take advantage of them. you Falsely Advertise a price that got confirmed not just by a sales rep but also by a Sales Manager verbally and written, then you say it's a mistake. Yet again you advertise a price and mileage on another vehicle then it also turns out to be a DECEPTIVE "Mistake", this has been one screw up after another and another and another !! aren't you guys good at anything other than SPECIOUS Advertising, giving out Fake Promises and make Crooked Dishonest Mistakes??? can you mention just one thing that you guys did correctly and right!!?? and i dont care whose fault is it either, because it's definitely NOT MINE, or maybe it was since i decided to give you a second chance to rectify your first Disastrous ill-Founded Episode!!! What i've seen so far from each and every one that i've dealt with at TOYOTA of Smithfield was nothing but incompetence, recklessness and complete unprofessionalism, needless to say the Deceptive Artistic Scam Professionals that roam around all day scamming customers and going home each week with big fat paychecks as a result of UNLAWFULLY EXPLOITING and MISLEADING consumers..!! you all should ashamed of yourself for adopting an Unethical Cheap BAIT & SWITCH Tactic to exploit consumers during these difficult economic times, and i wouldn't be surprised seeing this Unscrupulous Methods in small local Automotive dealerships, but when it happens from Branded Dealership representing and carries the name of a Well Respected and Reputable Japanese manufacturer as TOYOTA is just quiet shocking and appalling on all levels. I took my certified pre-owned RAV4 in for an oil change and a thumping noise under the drivers seat. The car was purchased at a dealership in MA six months ago because at the time, no RI dealership had wh and a thumping noise under the drivers seat. The car was purchased at a dealership in MA six months ago because at the time, no RI dealership had what I wanted. Smithfield performed the oil change then proceeded to tell me that the whole front seat needed to be replaced and tried to sell me another car. They told me if I wanted to fix the front seat I had to take it back to the original dealership. The car is still under the Toyota warranty. The original dealership is well over an hour away. I asked the service advisor three times why they couldn’t do the service and was repeatedly told I had to take it to original dealership. It seemed apparent to me that the service rep has some kind of deal with the salesperson on the floor, because I asked him if he got a commission and he told me no.. Then I asked how many cars did he “sell” this year and I was told 7-9. What’s going on here? I do not appreciate being deceived and manipulated because all Toyota dealerships have to repair their cars if taken to ANY Toyota dealership for service. I attempted to call the service department manager a number of times, and never got a return phone call I will never go back there again! More
Beware! I went into Toyota of Smithfield seeking a replacement for my 2010 Prius. The salesperson I worked with was horrendous. He was adversarial and defensive right from the get-go. He tried the cla replacement for my 2010 Prius. The salesperson I worked with was horrendous. He was adversarial and defensive right from the get-go. He tried the classic sales pitch jargon, and when I asked pointed questions he offered vague, evasive answers. Made me feel like the dealership was doing me a favor by offering me a used 2015 Prius. When I test drove and experienced some noises and vibrations that made me feel uncomfortable with car, I was challenged on those concerns. The finance manager was equally disingenuous - I felt like he was pushing way too hard for immediate purchase and glossing over my concerns. When they told me they'd call me back about looking into those concerns, I never heard from the dealership again. A truly poor customer service experience. More
My elderly father purchased a used RAV4 at this dealership and was not told that it only came with one key and no manual until AFTER he bought it. When he went back they ignored him even though he dealership and was not told that it only came with one key and no manual until AFTER he bought it. When he went back they ignored him even though he requested to speak with a manager. He sat there for over two hours waiting. They also tried to charge him for something that should have come with the vehicle. The level of disrespect they showed my dad is unacceptable and I would not buy a vehicle there if they were selling it for a dollar. I was told by the sales rep that with the current vehicle market that the car came with a lot and they didn't have to give him $600 off of his deal but they did it in order to make his deal work, which is not unusual in the negotiation process of buying a car. Just because there is a chip shortage and you have customers over a barrel doesn't mean you should rake someone over the coals and disrespect them because you THINK you hold all of the cards. I e-mailed corporate and will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience. I hope the $400 was worth all of the negative feedback I will be sharing with anyone who will listen. It's dealerships like yours that make people want to buy cars online to avoid all of this. Pretty soon the buying process will all be online and there will be no salesperson there to mislead and misguide an elderly buyer. If I could give you less then one star I would because you don't even deserve that. More
