I like that the dealership is within 10-15 miles from my home. Everyone seems friendly and eager to please. My only concern is that the navigation system is not loaded anymore. My experience was with a lease renewal. My lease was up in August and I met with a salesman, Joe Jr., to look at a RAV 4 XLE for finding my next Toyota. I was a bit hesitant to return to Toyota of Scranto in August and I met with a salesman, Joe Jr., to look at a RAV 4 XLE for finding my next Toyota. I was a bit hesitant to return to Toyota of Scranton after a winter fiasco with the Highlander I was leasing. I had used 5 roadside assistance calls on my insurance before they replaced the battery. The last day that the SUV wouldn't start was when I had an appointment for an ultrasound to determine if I had a blood clot in my leg. I missed the appointment and was very upset. On June 30, 2021 I went to look at the RAV 4. The salesman knew that I was handicapped and had mobility issues. The reason I wasn't looking at another Highlander was that I had difficulty getting into the car. I was looking for a 12,000 mile lease, but Joe told me I didn't need that .....he wouldn't sell me something I didn't need. I explained that my driving has increased because I now volunteer in Waymart 3 days a week. I wanted a remote starter in my new leased car. He told me that the ones Toyota installs aren't as good. Toyota would write a check and it would be installed at Best Buy. Toyota sent me a check for $250 which I haven't cashed yet. Online their starters are $300 plus. You cannot call Best Buy in Dickson City, you have to go there. Joe knew about this and my mobility issues. When I called him about this issue, he returned my call and said I would have to pay another $250 myself to have Toyota install it....he said he met with George and Mary Jo Preno about this. He said Mary Jo would call me tomorrow after 5 PM. That was August 4, 2021 and I haven't heard another word. He also told me the over mileage charge would be 15 cents per mile. It is 22 cents. I have already decreased my volunteer days because of this issue. It was the last day of the month and Joe wanted to close the deal. I had a friend with me and eventually 2 other men were close by, looking over my shoulders. At one point I asked Joe if the 3rd man was a "closer". If they have cameras in their showroom they can see this. Another employee told me that Joe was in a contest with another salesman and this was the last day of the month. The only hurry was for him and I assumed he was honest. More
took my vehicle in for a scheduled appointment on 7/30/21 to have a problem diagnosed, 7/31 had a voicemail that the vehicle needed a new axle. Monday 8/2 called Chris Ellis asst service dept. manager and he to have a problem diagnosed, 7/31 had a voicemail that the vehicle needed a new axle. Monday 8/2 called Chris Ellis asst service dept. manager and he told me that the part had to be ordered and would take at least 3 days to arrive, at that time I told Chris I would pick up the vehicle and return it when the part arrived as i needed it to get to dr. appts. After 4 days I called for an update and was informed that Chris and Jason Palmigiano were both working on the warranty info as well as the status of the new part, and that one of them would be contacting me soon. I never got a return. Today 8/17/21 got a call from Tara that the part has been shipped and on it's way. While all this was going on I called several auto parts stores in the Wilkes - Barre area and was told that they had the part in stock. More
