The process of buying a vehicle from Toyota of Santa Maria was full of miscommunication, tension, and poor sales practices. The Sales Rep I spoke stated I could use my own outside financing and provided Maria was full of miscommunication, tension, and poor sales practices. The Sales Rep I spoke stated I could use my own outside financing and provided a verbal agreement; a few hours later the Sales Manager changes the story and strong arms into using their financing because they said they could not write up a Purchase & Sale Agreement for the vehicle. This is flat out a lie. They claimed that creating a Purchase & Sale Order is not something that they usually provide to get approval for outside financing yet I had gone to other dealers who were able to provide that document. Then their financing was at least 50 basis points higher than my outside rate. After working through their Sales Department, I had to go through their financing department which was unequivocally one of the worst experiences. The Finance Department are incompetent and unable to appropriately explain their actions or financial concepts. I had to have my Purchase & Sale agreement rewritten at least 4 times before they were able to finalize the sale! In addition, I was told by the finance manager I would be able to use outside financing after I explained the situation with the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager agreed. However, lo and behold I get another call back after the Finance Manager spoke with the Sales Manager who once again forced me to use their outside financing. Overall this was an incredibly poor experience with trying to purchase vehicle from Toyota of Santa Maria and I highly recommend looking elsewhere to purchase. They are actively malicious and trying to the most money from a consumer with little regard to making the Sales process easier. More
