I had been treated VERY rudely and turned down by other dealerships, well let's face it, I have poor credit. But Derrell Pinnock talked very kind on the phone and so I decided to give Toyota of Richardson dealerships, well let's face it, I have poor credit. But Derrell Pinnock talked very kind on the phone and so I decided to give Toyota of Richardson a try since I REALLY wanted a Toyota FJ Cruiser! I got to the dealership and Derrell was with other customers (understansable), so he asked Favian Munoz to assist me. We looked at vehicle, test drove it, filled out the paperwork and then the fun began. I was a HUGE challenge - not only was my credit poor, but I had an out-of-state co-signer, I wanted low monthly payments, little to no money down, a great warranty - you know the girl that wanted it all - for nothing! LOL - But as a few days went by I was starting to think that it was going to end just like all the other dealerships. I'd call, ask if there was any word and get told that finance, Ray Reyes, was working on it, but to be patient as he really felt he could get the deal done. Now a week later I'm really thinking they are just stringing me along, so I call and honestly, was not all that nice to these kind salesmen, and told them that they had until noon the next day to decide as I didn't want to wait any longer. That cutoff time came and went and still nothing from them or the finanace guy. I was getting frustrated when all of a sudden I receive a call, 10 days after my first visit, telling me to come in and sign the papers, that they got the deal to go through! To top it all off it was NOT with a sub-prime lending company it was through Toyota Motor Credit! TOYOTA of RICHARDSON - Derrell Pinnock and Favian Munoz are AWESOME! Toyota of Richardson had every right to say to me, "Caveat Emptor: Let the Buyer Beware." However the General Sales Manager, Cesar Sotelo, was kind enough to meet with me to address the problem and it was resolved to my satisfaction. In the U.S., the number one consumer complaint involves auto financing. I am pleased to say there is an auto dealership that cares about their customers and for whom "customer service" is not just an empty platitude. For this reason, I wish to bring Toyota of Richardson (Texas) to your attention as an outstanding dealership. More

I was in an unfortunate accident two weeks ago and it put me in a tremendous bind as my ability to work absoluitely depends on my being able to get there. I went to Toyota of Richardson after seeing an older used car listed on their web site that I felt with a decent down payment I'd be able to get. At the time I was stuck in a rental car that was costing me $300 a week. I had been previously approved at Drive Time, but after doing some homework I opted to not do business with them because the owner plead guilty to securities fraud and I'm not even going to mention what they refer to their customers as - you can Google that for yourself, and the amount I would have paid for the car in total would have been 4 times it's value at the time I signed the paperwork. I could go on about what else I learned about that company, but this review isn't about them, it's about Toyota of Richardson, so I'm going to get back to the point. Sam ran my credit, asked me a few questions about my situation, and what happened next I can only describe as divine intervention, fate, or the like. Sam says "Zach, I have a car for YOU! Wait until you see this." - those words I really did NOT expect to hear at a real dealership [And that's not a verbatim quote but you get my point]. How he was able to pair me with that car right off the bat I do not understand. What he did was nothing short of brilliant, he put me in a car that was basically brand new, but had some cosmetic hail damage. Let me explain why this is important. With my credit the way it was, the amount of deposit I had to work with, I would have realistically been looking at a 4-5 year old car with 100,000 miles on it. What Sam did was put me into a car that was mechanically perfect [Might as well have just been driven out of the factory as far as I'm concerned] but had a couple of dents on it. Those couple of dents [from hail] knocked so much off the sticker price of that car that it put it just within my reach. And this is where the Finance team came in. But first, let me tell you that I had previously been to another Toyota dealership. Ironically about a week before my accident, by chance and not because I had been out shopping for a car, I had been out shopping for service on my Toyota Avalon which had 400,000 miles [Yes, almost HALF A MILLION MILES - THIS IS WHY I SWEAR BY TOYOTA!] and somehow ended up letting this other used dealership run my credit. I won't name names but here but let's just say they are in a city that starts with the letter P. The salesman was nice enough, but they just kind of let me sit there for a couple of hours waiting for the Finance guys to try to work something out. After a couple of hours, the guy said the finance people were not reachable because it was the end of the day and that he'd get back with me the next day. He never called me. Let me tell you, at Toyota of Richardson, that JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN! It doesn't matter who you are dealing with, staff who are just passing by will check on you to make sure you're ok. While I was waiting staff I didn't even know would come up to me, call me by my name and tell me what was going on, as if they had known me for years. The experience is VERY personal and HIGHLY pleasing. I am an extremely busy software developer and I barely have time to keep up with myself, but let me tell you THAT is the kind of place where I would go OUT OF MY WAY just to get an oil change so I could hang out there for 20 minutes and say Hi to those people. I am not kidding here. Back to the Finance guys, namely Rey and Danny. I mentioned the paragraph before last that I had been somewhere else and not been approved. Let me also state that one of the banks that didn't approve me was Capital One Auto Finance. I don't know how those two guys did it, but let me tell you they CAN MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!
