Toyota of Hackensack - Service Center

I brought my car in because the engine was shutting off when braking and was making a rattling sound. The mechanic that worked on my car experienced the same issue which would make you think they would be when braking and was making a rattling sound. The mechanic that worked on my car experienced the same issue which would make you think they would be able to diagnose the problem accurately. He suggested a $120 repair which didn't fix the issue. Within a few hours, the same exact issue happened and was getting worse. I couldn't bring the car back because the shop was closed. I rescheduled. I finally checked the oil and it was extremely low. After adding oil, the problem went away immediately. I'm extremely disappointed that such a simple fix was not considered by the mechanic. I would think that if there's an issue with the engine, one of the first things would be to check the engine oil. A layman with little to no car experience should not be able to find such a simple solution over an trained mechanic. Extremely disappointed in Toyota's mechanics and now I wasted $120 for nothing. More
