Everyone at this dealership is always very professional and courteous, I always service my car here even though there are plenty of nearer dealers because of the interactions with the staff. and courteous, I always service my car here even though there are plenty of nearer dealers because of the interactions with the staff. This is a mixed review of a recent repair experience, oil and filter change and tire rotation. As far as I can tell, the service was done correctly (except see below), the service consultant, receptionist, c and filter change and tire rotation. As far as I can tell, the service was done correctly (except see below), the service consultant, receptionist, checkin valet and delivery valet were all pleasant and competent. Why it’s a mixed review: When I made the appointment over the phone, I was told it would take about an hour, so I elected to wait for it. The service consultant said an hour to an hour and a half; marginal, but still in a reasonable range. When I was not called after 2 hours I went back to the consultant, who had my paperwork ready; which made it seem like the car had been finished sometime earlier, and I wasn’t notified. Someone could have come to see me in the waiting area, or texted me, but no one did. If I had known upfront that it would be two hours I would not have waited. 2nd problem: The tire pressures were not set correctly. The were all set to 36 PSI, yet the placard in the car clearly shows that the front tires should be 35 and the rear 33. I have my own emergency pump, so I was able to correct this. General comment: I’ve been having cars serviced for 60 years. I have never had an experience where work was completed in the promised time, the estimates were sometimes off by days, so I guess twice a 1 hour estimate is exceptionally good. But it doesn’t feel like it. Also in my experience, no service facility, dealer or independent, has ever set tire pressures correctly, and unfortunately Toyota of Hackensack is no exception. Which is why I always check tire pressures myself after a service. More
