I’ve been going to Toyota since purchasing my vehicle there. It’s convenient to make an appointment and get to. Very disappointed. Replaced driver side fender liner. The part was overpriced more than $65. I have the price comparison from another online part seller for the same product number. The fender liner, wheel o part was overpriced more than $65. I have the price comparison from another online part seller for the same product number. The fender liner, wheel opening pad and clips/screws cost a total of $114.02 whereas Toyota of Hackensack charged $ 183.89, and that was after negotiating with the Service Manager Paul. The original quote was $347 (I guess parts $190 +labor $ 157). Service was shabby and a 30 min job was assessed a labor charge of 1 hour ($144.11). The handover of vehicle was nothing short of humiliation. Why? Because I questioned the overpriced part and service charge? I heard one of the mechanics curse the F word as he handed the documents and left the Service Managers desk. It took 30 mins to get the vehicle out of the dealership though it was ready to go. And it took only 30 mins because I kept walking to the Service Managers desk. Checked in at 2:10 pm. Promised returning time: 3:45 pm. Car was ready at 4:15 pm. Delivered at 4:45 pm after walking to the service managers desk 3 times. Upon receiving the vehicle, notice that the hood was not shut properly. I could clearly see the cracked open hood from a distance but the delivery guy never noticed it. If the mechanic did not care then why would he? Imagine if I had driven the car on a highway at 75 mph with the hood not closed shut? I opened the hood to see the prop rod totally out of place and the hood clamps seemed hammered. Clear sign that the mechanic had shut the hood multiple times incorrectly and jammed both the prop rod and hood clamp. Did he ever care to see if the prop rod was in place before jamming down the hood? Went looking for the Service Manager, nowhere to be found. Walked straight into the service area and another mechanic offered to help to release the hood clamp and he successfully shut the hood. I had no hood closing problems prior to this incident. I guess the mechanic whoever serviced the car jammed the hood so many times in anger that the clamp was out of place. And to top it all, the service mechanic returned the car with broken fender liner clip, the very clip he installed 30 mins ago. There are no words to explain that nastiness. More
