Hats off to Toyota of Des Moines!! My wife and I were out looking for a new truck and stopped in to your dealership to check out the Toyota line of trucks. Within a couple of minutes Steve Johnson appro out looking for a new truck and stopped in to your dealership to check out the Toyota line of trucks. Within a couple of minutes Steve Johnson approched us to lend us his technical knowledge of the trucks on the lot. After asking him a boat load of questions, we seattled on testing driving a TUNDRA. We really liked the feel of the TUNDRA, the way it handled and its appearance. Steve, at that point, took our information and told us to think about it, as we were unsure at the moment on purchasing. Some thought was given and contact was re-established with Steve on pursuing the TUNDRA we had choosen. Steve worked diligently with us on this purchase and after some negotiations a deal was struck! We really enjoyed working with Steve on this purchase. He was attuned to our needs and desires and made everything happen in a quick and efficient manner. I purchased a 2010 Prius from Jerry Kingery, who was great to work with. He worked hard to get me the best price. Our sales/service experience at Toyota of Des Moines could not have been better. Three of our sons and our daughter have purchased cars from Jerry over the past year also. They, too, have had an excellent experience. Pricing is fair and both Jerry and the managers were willing to work with all of us to find a price that fit our budget. Toyota of Des Moines is the most professional dealership we've ever been to. Everyone, from top to bottom, is courteous and responsive. It seems that customer service is a high priority. By the time I agreed to meet with Steve at Toyota of Des Moines I was a very frustrated potential car buyer. I had been to another dealership and came away with the impression that nobody was willing to finance an almost-divorced single mother. I was determined that buying a car was something I was going to do on my own, no help from co-signers, no hand-holding from daddy. And Steve was there to walk me through the whole process. I never once felt pressured into buying anything. He answered all my questions. And I feel he went above and beyond to work out a deal for me that worked for my needs and budget. I've bought two other vehicles from two other Des Moines dealerships in the past and after my experience with Toyota of Des Moines and Steve in particular, I won't shop for a car anywhere else the next time I'm in the market. The most I've ever gotten from the other two dealerships was just a nice card in the mail a week or so after my purchase. Steve has followed up with many times in the past few months to make sure that I'm still happy with my purchase and to remind me that if I need anything else, he's there to help. He even kept me up to date on what he knew about the Toyota recalls. Seriously, I couldn't have asked for more from a salesman or a dealership! More
Overall, great service. Frustrated with finance and they did not fill out proper "hold" form for my check. Therefore, it was sent through to my bank, and it "bounced" acouple checks....When I called to cor did not fill out proper "hold" form for my check. I needed to replace my GM vehicle which was at the end of the lease I did 3 years ago. The zero APR that Toyota was offering seemed like a good deal. I went to Toyota of Des Moines website and picked out a the lease I did 3 years ago. The zero APR that Toyota was offering seemed like a good deal. I went to Toyota of Des Moines website and picked out a 2010 Toyota Venza. Steve called me up within 15 minutes of me sending my information. He made the whole buying process to easy and hassle free that I doubt if I will ever go to a different dealership, as long at Steve works for Toyota of Des Moines! More
I purchased a used Toyota Corolla from Toyota of Des Moines in 2008. The salesman we worked with tried to be friendly, but in the process he treated my wife and I like idiots. We felt like the dealership was completely unwilling to lower their price, which was higher than Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds TMV indicated it should be. The worst aspect of our transaction was that the car we ended up purchasing did not have the same features that it was advertised to have. We discovered on the drive home that the car did not have any form of cruise control, despite the window sticker clearly indicating that not only did it have cruise control, but that it had been inspected and deemed to be in good working order. The dealer's maintenance department was accomodating and installed a cruise package after-market free of charge. However, we later discovered (after driving the car for several months) that the car also did not have the anti-lock brakes that were advertised to have been inspected and in good working order. We felt the service we recieved was poor at best and the product we were sold was advertised to have been inspected and obviously had not been. I will never buy a car from this dealer again and tell everyone I know who is considering shopping for cars in Des Moines to avoid doing business with them as well. More
