Hello. Again I am sorry to hear of your trouble with the tire light coming on. I do apologize for any inconvenience that it might have caused. I would like to provide some infromation as to a possible cause of the drop in tire pressure that you experienced. With our fall thus far having had some very warm days and not knowing the details of the temps you incountered on your trip but you mention were cooler, which I understand you left four days after your service was performed, it is possible to lose as much as 1 (one) psi for every 8 degrees of tempurature change, according to google on the day you were in the temp was 78.1 degrees, the day you left on vacation was 69.1, there is one pound of PSI change prior to even leaving on your trip. As you drove into cooler temps is it possible to have lost another 3-4 PSI ? All tires being equal in pressure would seem to indicate that they were cheked recently and have just experienced some fluctuation. Again I am sorry for any inconvenience this caused.

Toyota of Des Moines participates in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we may have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at their dealership. As I understand the issue, we tried to fix your problem as inexpensively as possible before telling you it was going to be several thousand dollars to fix it, for this we are sorry the lesser cost fix did not solve the problem. Secondly the program that you are referring to was the Tacoma frame buyback program I would guess, but being unsure of the exact date you requested to get your trade in back, I cannot guarantee that the truck had not been taken to auction already and sold or that the program was even in effect. The program had no provisions for trading the vehicle just for turning the vehicle in for scrap and receiving a flat amount of money for it. Since to the best of our knowledge the vehicle was gone from our control on the date you requested to remove it from the deal, and all the paperwork was complete, there was no going back. Again, were sorry that we have lost the privilege to get you into another Toyota product in the future, but it was out of our control. Please call and ask for Customer Relations if there is something we can do and remember that you can edit or add to your comments at any time by clicking “Edit” next to your review.

Ha you say you took the least expensive option to make a fix but like I said there was nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. When I got off the interstate I grabbed the front tires and gave them a good shake and me being a big guy if the wheel bearing was "ready to throw a tire" like the service guys said then there should have been some play in the front end or even made a clunking noise. Did I mention I had some brake, shock and tie rod work done before I left for the trip so everything was tight. So like I suspect the mechanics took my word for thinking the noises came from the front and didnt even check the rear axle where the major problem was staring them in the face. To top it off I had major repair work done to the rear axle by Toyota of Hyannis about 5 months before and apparently it was shoddy worksmanship to last under 5 thousand miles. Next you say that the vehicle was already out of your control, I had yet to send the title to you so how is it possible that the vehicle was already sold without the transfer? IT WAS THE NEXT DAY I ASKED TO KEEP MY OLD TRUCK, LIKE 18 HOURS LATER. Once again Toyota of Des Moines is making no sense and making things up. If you had wanted to you could have easily gotten the truck returned. Then weeks later the sales guy was nice enough to tell me that "well we didnt make any money when we sold it". So why did you not sell it back to me???? I STILL HAD THE TITLE AT THAT POINT IN TIME. Toyota Corporate offices told me that if I could get a written statement from Steve Johnson that the truck was rusted to a dangerous condition, LIKE HE TOLD ME IT WAS WHEN I TRADED IT IN, which is the argument he gave me for giving me such a low trade in value, then I would be reimbursed through the frame perforation recall. But neither Steve nor anybody else I spoke to in sales would honor my request and I STILL WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY NOT???
