I contacted the dealership to get a quote on a new Genesis, Alyssa sent me an e-mail back with 2 links to look at the car i was thinkging of buying. I liked one of them and asked her for the price on it, she sent back an e-mail telling me alot but not the price, i asked for a 2nd time, still nothing about the cost of the car. I asked a 3rd time about finance and the cost of that same car she sent me the link to. Again wanted to know when i was coming in and take it for a ride. I told her i had drivin one on vacation and knew i liked it. So i again asked for the cost again she would not tell me. I sent an e-mail saying that i thanked her for her time but wanted the price and if she could or would not give it to me then we were done and i would go somewhere else. Today i have been getting e-mails again from what i thought was her boss Christopher Tulloch and i said why i was un happy, then another e-mail saying Alyssa did her job and Christopher was confussed about why i would do business there. I called to find out Christopher is off today, so my guess is Alyssa has been sending e-mails with Christopher's name on them. So i called and asked her to stop, she said they are self generated, i read the e-mail to her and said someone took the time to type this out and send it to me, if Chris is out then who would do that?? I told her i went to Maxon and they gave me a quote in 10 min she yelled then go to Maxon and slammed the phone down. Jake did everything right! he was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. He "qualified the customer, made a personal connection, got us in the car, pointed out features of the car and worked a fair price wi knowledgeable. The process, however of "aftersale" took entirely too long ( 2hours). In spite of our willingness to give an earnest money deposit and complete the deal the following workday, the process was unacceptably long. Had it not been completed when it was, we would have walked away. We arived at the dealership at 11 am and left after 5. Jake continued to check on us and try to hasten the process. Although I come from an automotive sales family and understand the importance of the end of the month sale and respect how busy your dealership was that day , your finance department could have cost your fine salesman a sale and in terms of your overall dealership that is not something you want to do. Addi tonally, because he was considerate enough to check on our well being , numerous times, I wonder if he lost additional sales opportunities that day- and sales that would contribute to the month end quota. finally, during that time , you did not offer any compensation for the inordinate amount of time that the process took. If in the future , you find yourself causing your customers long delays in their car buying process, you should have a game plan for compensation to them- complimentary cookies, sandwiches, coupons for oil changes - something to show your appreciation for their time- a whole Sat. in our case.
