Straightforward Dealership I recently had to replace my mother's car. I wanted to lease the car for three years. After researching the usual suspects (Mazda, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, etc) I decided that the Hyundai Sonata SE was the best car for her. I calculated what a reasonable value for a lease would be for a 2015 SE. Then I looked at inventory and prices at twelve different dealerships within driving distance of Portland. I asked for leasing terms from each dealer for the SE. Of the nine prices I was quoted, McLoughlin was the lowest, often by a substantial amount. In fact it was pretty close to what I had calculated. What was more important was that once Gary and I agreed on the lease terms, the process was simple. I went to the dealership and confirmed that it was the right car. He provided me the lease figures so I could review them overnight. The next day Sandy delivered the car and we signed the papers. They even brought another driver so I woudn't have to drive her back to the dealership. Nice touch. Thus I would highly recomment this dealership. More

I bought a used Hyundai Santa Fe elsewhere, but brought it to T&C to deal with the minor issues of a used vehicle. Everyone in the Service department, but especially Don, were incredible to work with. They it to T&C to deal with the minor issues of a used vehicle. Everyone in the Service department, but especially Don, were incredible to work with. They took extra time to make sure that everything was solved in the best fashion, even keeping the vehicle overnight so that they could review things in the morning, and putting me in a rental for the night at no extra cost. We are asked about undercoating, gap Insurance, extended warranty, etc. We declined everything with Tony. I affirmed that we had the deal locked in and left my wife to sign since it would be "her" car. The loan was through my Credit Union, so only 5 weeks later I learned that the person (Mo) who had my wife sign the final docs had sold her an extended warranty. She told me that Mo said it was $300.00, when it really added $2900.00 to the loan. I called the dealer and said we did not want that and my wife did understand that $2900.00 would be added to the loan, and an extra year to the term. The salesman Tony said they could remove the extended warranty, my wife would have to come in to sign. We arrived the next day to see Mo, the man who she did the final docs with. He asked for the car mileage and said it would only take a minute to compete the paperwork. I left to get the mileage while my wife signed. I came back in and handed Mo the paper. I started to say something about the misunderstanding and Mo said "who are you, why are you here?" He said, "You have no business in here as I dealt with your wife. I don't have to talk to you." My wife said I could be there and he can talk to me. Mo turned away from me and said to my wife, "I will talk to you. I am not talking to him." I told Mo he was being very unprofessional and asked for the name of his supervisor. My said he did have one, then said "I don't have to tell you." I did get the name (Jeremy) from another employee and made a complaint. Jeremy said he was sorry this happened. Worst and most surprising experience I have had at any auto dealership. More
When I first spoke with Tony on the phone, he was very helpful. I pulled into the dealership and he was waiting on me and seemed very friendly. We drove the Elantra limited and it was very nice, but had helpful. I pulled into the dealership and he was waiting on me and seemed very friendly. We drove the Elantra limited and it was very nice, but had a lot of road noise and no spare tire. I came back a couple of days later with my mother to see if her wheelchair would fit and to see if she would be comfortable riding in the car. It did and she was, but even she commented on the loud road noise. Tony said that maybe it was the tires. After having driven other cars I had narrowe my search to just two and called Tony to tell him. My hesitation with the Elantra was the lack of a spare tire and the road noise. The other dealership had offered to let me drive their car overnight to see if I liked it and I asked if they would do the same. Tony said no and then had his mangager call me back. The manager said that they would agree to do a borrowed car agreement if I would come back in to run numbers with them. I agreed and went after work. It was close to 8 when I got there and Tony had a different Limited with a different type of tires. We drove the car and sure enough it was much quieter. I asked if I could get those tires on the one I was considering buying and Tony told me no. When we looked at the numbers, he tried to tell me that my car was basically scrap metal and not worth anything as a trade and that my credit wasn't good and didn't show that I had ever financed a car so I would have a high interest rate. My credit wasn't bad and I have financed and paid off a car and was able to show them on my credit report where it showed this fact. Then they came back with some numbers showing a payment of $281 and immediately got up saying "oops" and returned with one showing $290. The supposed reason for the increase was the addition of a spare tire. Keep in mind that this was for 60 month financing. Spare tires are not $540! (I called a different dealership and was told that a spare tire would only be $40-50 and that it would not be a problem to change the tires.) When I balked at the interest rate, the high price for the spare tire, and the lack of customer service in not changing the tires, I was told: "You've been here 3 times. People don't do that. I know you want this car." What arrogance! Yes, I do want the car--from another dealership that understands customer service. (Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the borrowed car agreement was a ploy to get me back in. When I asked about it, I was told "We can't do that! We would have let you borrow it for maybe and hour but it's so late now...you can't have it over night." If you don't like being lied to, then don't come here.) More
We originally didn't have a great experience but the dealership went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely satisfied with our purchase.
