I purchased my new truck from Francis at Thompson GMC May of 2021 and it was a great experience. I live 2.5 hours away from the dealership, clarity and communication was most important to me. When I arrived everything was ready to go with the truck, sales dept and finance dept. This made the trip well worth my time and a great experience. A little over 3 weeks ago we purchased a used Buick from Thompson Buick GMC. Our salesperson was Casey Jones. He navigated us through a somewhat complicated purchase since we traveled about 4.6 hours from SC to first look at the car plus we also worked out a reasonable trade on our Buick we drove there. We had to have a non smoker car and wanted an excellent looking car also. Everything Casey told us about the car was exactly accurate and he professionally and patiently navigated us thru the whole process. I would highly recommend him and the Thompson Buick dealership. This is the 3rd car we have purchased from Thompson in the past few years. We like the professionalism of everyone we encounter and never feel pressured to make a decision. When we did not see what we were looking for on the lot, Francis Johnson, let us know about a car which they had recently received and were working on to classify it as certified pre-owned vehicle. He was prompt in letting us know when the car would be available for us to see, and the car was setting in the lot when we arrived to test drive it. The process for completing our purchase was easy and very efficient. Bryan Blair was organized and moved smoothly though each step of the process. Loved the fact it was all paperless when it can to adding our signatures and there was no pressure to purchase additional products/plans when we were not interested. We've always experience good service from their service department and look forward to the same level of service during the life of our newly purchased vehicle. More
My wife Jennifer and I visited Thompson on 2/19/22 near closing time. Francis Johnson assisted us with looking at a GMC Terrain. Francis also did a super job of following up with me the following Monday. Francis helped us and answered all of our questions in a very open and forthright manner and followed up without being overbearing. We both really appreciated Francis manner in helping us on Saturday and his follow up. In the end we purchased a different make vehicle. However, had we decided the GMC was the right vehicle for us we would have definitely bought from Francis at Thompson. More
On July 9th, I entered into an agreement with Lee Maynor to trade my 2018 GMC Yukon XL Denali (Purchased from Thompson in January 2018) for a factory order 2021 GMC Yukon Denali XL. Lee agreed to accept a G to trade my 2018 GMC Yukon XL Denali (Purchased from Thompson in January 2018) for a factory order 2021 GMC Yukon Denali XL. Lee agreed to accept a GM Supplier certificate in exchange for immediate turnover of my trade-in. The amount agreed to was approximately $3,000 below the Manheim MMR auction report provided as evidence of trade-in value. I agreed and signed a contract. The 2021 vehicle was made on August 10 and placed on Quality hold in Arlington, TX for 63 days at no fault of Thompson. The issuance of the VIN number allowed Thompson to get the trade-in tax credit for my 2018 which they sold shortly thereafter. The 2021 order arrived in Raleigh in early November. I asked Lee Maynor to sell that order to another customer and allow me to order a replacement 2022 model. Lee agreed and another order was placed. Please keep in mind that Thompson was holding $56,500 of my money for the 2018 trade-in the entire time and it was fully paid off. On December 6 Lee allowed me to change an accepted factory order for a 2022 model through sales representative Casey Jones. I provided a spec sheet via email to Lee and Casey with options clearly indicated. Lee even wrote "Here" on 2 dealer installed options. The document was signed on 12/7 and the order was in process. On 12/23, the 2022 model was produced and shipped. It arrived in Raleigh on 1/10/2022. I was told it would be ready for pick up on 1/14 and noticed one of the must have options was not included upon my arrival at the dealership. I required a second-row bench seat and Casey order it with 2nd row captain's chairs. Also, none of the dealer installed options were actually installed at the time I was told it would be ready. Since Lee was on vacation on 1/14 I sent him an email on 1/18 requesting a replacement order. He replied that everything that had was spoken for and no option to order another one in 30 days was available. He stated my trade in amount was being sent to me by check and there was no longer an option to order a replacement GMC. I have lost $1,695 in trade in tax credit that they promoted on the 7/9/2021 sales agreement to justify a lower trade in value. There was also no take it or leave it ultimatum provided to me on January 14 when I went to pick up the vehicle. They sold it in the next few days with no negative financial impact to Thompson. As already stated, they presented the 2022 GMC for delivery with 2 missing dealer installed options. Thompson has responded that I refused 2 factory orders, but they fail to mention they were sold for MSRP or higher and made a significant profit. Thompson no longer wants to honor their agreement on July 9, 2021 to sell me a new GMC at GM Supplier pricing due to greedy and unethical business practices. More

I was promised by them putting used parts on my wrecked explorer would be lifetime warranty! Turns out not there, the manager was horrible! And he refused to fix the issues that was wrong with it.
