Let me start off by saying that this was my first new car purchase based soley on internet research and internet dealer contacts. Melissa, the internet sales manager, was phenonmenal! She always responde purchase based soley on internet research and internet dealer contacts. Melissa, the internet sales manager, was phenonmenal! She always responded to me emails promptly...most of the time within 15-20 minutes. She got me the best price I could find for the vehicle I was looking for and was able to get the entire deal done with taxes, registration fees etc etc before I had arrived at the dealership. I traveled 900 miles to purchase this vehicle and one of the big reasons for that was the way I was treated from start to finish. Thank you again Melissa for everything! I love the new STI! I'll send pictures whenever I add something new to the car lol! More
This dealership does have a number of positive attributes - they have a very inviting facility, a friendly sales staff, a great selection, competitive prices, and they seemed competent as I went through my e - they have a very inviting facility, a friendly sales staff, a great selection, competitive prices, and they seemed competent as I went through my experience of buying a used car. They provided me with most of the necessary paperwork, and I say most because as I first went to register the car I found that I had not received the actual title, and upon calling I found it to be in the mail. I was disappointed that they didn't make this clear from the beginning - this lack of communication has really inconvenienced me. Second, and more importantly, the used car I bought had a breakdown 30 miles after I drove it off the lot. I called and talked to my salesperson (Adam) and he essentially gave me no answer. I then called and talked to the Sales Manager, and the best they could do for me was let me know that this happens from time to time, and that's why you buy a warranty. He let me know that it's common to buy a used car and put money into it right away. I didn't think that the autobarn was in the business of selling cars that needed money put into it right away. I'm disappointed that they didn't check the car to the point where it would survive 30 highway miles after I drove it home, and I'm disappointed they haven't gone out of their way in the name of customer service. It might seem that all the positives of a place like this would outweigh this negative, but to me this is a very big negative, and if an organization is willing to treat the small guy like this, and overlook something as important as taking care of the customer, I've lost confidence in this dealership. Be wary of buying a used car from this dealership. More
Paul is the universe's gift to the car shopping world. As a dealer he was on the money and helpful. Paul gave us an extremely competitive price (beating another dealer's "lowest possible" price) and had As a dealer he was on the money and helpful. Paul gave us an extremely competitive price (beating another dealer's "lowest possible" price) and had just about all the paperwork done from our phone calls alone. My wife was happy and when she's happy, then damn it, my life is easy. The financing went well, very quickly for that matter, except for one thing and that was the HARD push for the warranty explanation and sales pitch. This is my 3rd Subaru. I'm freakin' almost 40and when I say I'm not interested what I really mean is don't freakin lecture me about how this is federal law and you HAVE to explain every last detail. That's 40 minutes of my life I will never get back. There should be a poster or sign saying somewhere that there is a federal requirement to explain the warranties being sold and that it may take 30-40 minutes. I spoke with other dealerships and many of my friends who work at various dealerships (non-subaru) and I was told there is no requirement. Other then that I will be buying my next Subaru (hopefully an STi) from Paul again! Hope this helps and consider yourself warned! More
Had a very pleasant buying experience. Melissa was a pleasure to work with and very quick to follow up with me on my many questions. There were no hidden charges or fees, and the price we paid for the pleasure to work with and very quick to follow up with me on my many questions. There were no hidden charges or fees, and the price we paid for the new car was as we agreed upon via email prior to setting foot in the dealership. The only "negatives" throughout the buying process was waiting for the finance guy and having to listen to his salespitch for the additional warranties which we expressly stated we were not interested in purchasing. He stated that it was company policy to review all of the additional warranty options with us, even if we explicitly stated we were not interested and didn't want to hear it. Overall, a very easy car buying experience. Melissa was great. More
Paul and I emailed 3-4 times regarding vehicles, options, pricing, etc. before my wife and I visited the dealership. He was polite and helpful both on line and in person. The price was as quoted (and below i pricing, etc. before my wife and I visited the dealership. He was polite and helpful both on line and in person. The price was as quoted (and below invoice) and they gave us a fair price on our trade-in. No real pressure to buy anything else, although all the extra warranties, etc. were offered. We did have a mechanical problem a few hours after purchasing the car but Darrell, the GM, was very helpful in working out the issue and even went to bat with the regional Subaru rep to resolve the problem. I highly recommend Paul, Darrell and The Autobarn Subaru for a purchase. More
Ryan being new to the business was very professional, courteous and polite. I believe this gentleman would go up the ladder without sacrificing his integrity. If the vehicle of my preference pops up on courteous and polite. I believe this gentleman would go up the ladder without sacrificing his integrity.
