I was shopping for a new vehicle and had narrowed down the list to a small handful of options. Internet Sales Manager Melissa Missbach was very attentive and extremely quick to reply to all of my questions by phone and email, and was able to provide a great deal on a new Outback ringing in well below invoice (because of a dealer incentive or two, I'm sure), and at a better deal than competitors. Melissa went the extra mile to seek out an out of stock color vehicle for me (from nearby dealerships), and had it delivered on site within 3 business days. Melissa's no-nonsense attitude coupled with her attention to detail is the model that others should seek to replicate, and by giving both effort and a great bottom line value she is at the top of the class. Finance man Brian was also sharp, disarming, and had a non-pushy way of doing things. He is to be commended for making quick work of all of my detailed questions and cleanly and quickly explaining everything about the finances, options, and so on. I would not hesitate to recommend Autobarn Subaru to family, friends, and anyone looking for a new vehicle. I am still amazed about the fantastic service I received last Saturday, 6-25-11 at The Autobarn car dealership in Countryside, Illinois. I am an older priest in the Chicagoland area who had been driving a 1996 Mercedes in dire need of approximately $7K worth of repairs recommend by a Mercedes dealer. I knew I needed to upgrade to a safer vehicle, but being on a very fixed income, I wasn’t sure if I had any options which I could afford. I was very grateful to dealt with two incredible men at the Autobarn Volkswagen andSubaru of Countryside dealerships Richard Kirkpatrick, Manager of the Autobarn Volkswagen Dealership of Countryside and George Spaeth, a sales & Leasing Consultant were both truly ‘Gifts from God’ for me to deal with. Thank God that neither man was a stereotypical hard pressure salesmen. They were gentlemen! Extremely knowledgeable on their cars and all models, very polite and very willing to answer all my many questions. I was treated with very real, genuine respect. They were both totally sensitive relative to what I could afford, what kind of driving I would be doing most of the time etc. I ended up doing a 3 year lease on a beautiful 2011 Subaru Impreza. I am an older man and I have never owned a brand new car. And believe it or not, I had never even thought I could afford to lease a vehicle! What a treat! And, even though I only have it as a lease for the next 3 years (with an option to purchase); I am thrilled to have a beautiful car to drive to drive that I genuinely feel safe in. Both the Autobarn Volkswagen and the Autobarn Subaru dealerships are on a massive property at the intersection of Joliet Road and LaGrange Road (6060 S. LaGrange Rd.) in Countryside. And driving out to the LaGrange, Illinois are, I had no trouble finding it and it was very accessible when I test-drove both Subaru’s and Volkswagen cars on Joliet Road. It’s not possible for me to be more pleased and grateful! Thank you Autobarn for having staff members like Richard Kirkpatrick and George Spaeth. I would like to say thank you to the service folks at this location. Having been told I needed rack and pinion and had the work complete by another mechanic I was told the very next oil change that the this location. Having been told I needed rack and pinion and had the work complete by another mechanic I was told the very next oil change that the head gaskets need to be replaced. Well with 138,000 plus miles on my 04 Forester I felt a second opinion was needed. I purchased my subie at the Subaru of Countryside now known as the Autobarn so that is where I headed. Well after that car was up and I saw the mess of oil and leaking I knew it was a new car sale for me. Scott explained the repairs and let me know the approximate cost so I could consider my options. As I do regular service on the car and had hoped to keep it at least another year to two years I scheduled the work. I am very pleased at the results and expect to have the dealership service the car going forward. Carol Lyle More
