After a not so good experience with another Subaru dealer in the Chicago area, I gave the Autobarn team a try. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER! I saw a vehicle on their website listed for 27,988; went to test drive in the afternoon. Then decided to purchase the vehicle that same evening and they changed their online website listed for 27,988; went to test drive in the afternoon. Then decided to purchase the vehicle that same evening and they changed their online listed price to 29,988 and claimed that "is was an error in entering the data". They would not even be a reputable dealer and give their original listed price even though it was a "mistake" on their end. I believe this is called the old "Bait & Switch" method of selling vehicles. I don't feel that any dealers should be able to deceive consumers in this way. FYI: They actually did this same thing with several vehicles on their website. More
We were cash buyers for a used Lexus, and needless to say we did not buy the car and would never step foot in this dealership again! From the moment we arrived there were salesmen sitting around playing wit we did not buy the car and would never step foot in this dealership again! From the moment we arrived there were salesmen sitting around playing with their phones acting as if their game of "words with friends" was more important than a potential customer. The salesman Patrick took us for a test drive, however we were very distracted by the warning icons flashing on the dash and Patrick's cell phone ringing off the hook, trying to drive with a missing shifter knob and oh, the candy wrappers and old receipts littering up the car. Upon returning from our test drive we went into the dealership to "meet the manager" who had the typical used car salesman arrogance. The lobby of this place speaks volumes about the quality of service you will receive there. A 20x20 sitting room with two plastic chairs makes one very uncomfortable. Later that night we sent Patrick an email with a few questions about the car, meaning we were clearly interested in this car. We wanted to know about the maintenance history, how many keys came with it, if they could fix a few scratchers... Nothing crazy... This email was sent Friday night and we got a phone call back Monday afternoon. Wow, I guess they are not looking for that quick sale? When I finally spoke with Patrick he was very defensive about my questions, and raised his voice when I questioned how well the mechanics inspect the vehicles. He actually told me, if I wasn't comfortable with his mechanics then when I get the car I could take it to the Lexus dealership myself to get it checked out... On the phone he would talk over me, and when I did get a word in he would talk down to me. Last time I checked a car salesman was supposed to sell a car not argue with the customer? Between my husband and I we have bought about 30 cars in our lifetime and this by far was the WORST experience we have ever had! There are so many dealerships in the Chicagoland area please don't waste your time with this one! More
Patrick was Great! He made the buying process very efficient. We had a nice price from him. Since we are new here, he was so kind that he drove us to the dealership. I would recommend working with Ed Jedlowski Jr. again. He is very down to earth and friendly and truly made the experience of buying a car less stressful. I recently helped a friend with a purchase of a different brand car, and the experience at Countryside Autobarn was far and away superior to that experience. We'll certainly send our friends here.
