The problem was found during the time of the parts strike in MN so service was pushed back. I did contact service department after several months to inquire about the part and was rudely told they would contact me when they could get a part. I didn’t hear back from Tanner for many months and when I did call them I was told the part had been there for many months and a text message had been sent to me but I didn’t respond. Now I didn’t receive a text message nor would I expect one as a form of communication from Tanner. I made an appt at this time which would be a few months later. I took my vehicle in a day early due to a schedule conflict and was told there were several cancellations and it may get looked at early. There was another issue with the truck occasionally not shifting properly, which needed to be addressed. The service person, Elliot, told me to call in the day of my scheduled appt to check on progress. So on Thursday afternoon, the day my vehicle had been scheduled to be seen at around 10;00 am, I called in and spoke to Elliot. He said my truck had not been looked at yet and there were two other vehicles still ahead of mine. I couldn’t believe that it hadn’t even been looked at yet. I inquired about how long it may take and he couldn’t give me a timeline. I hung up and then recalled him less than 30 mins later because I wanted to inform him that I really needed my vehicle back as soon as possible. He informed me it had just been taken in so I again asked him for timeline. Elliot went back to ask about the vehicle and found out it would be about a half day project. When I expressed my disappointment in the fact that my appt was at 10a.m and it was now after 2:00 p.m.,Elliot questioned whether or not they should look at the shifting issue and I felt it was being Insinuated it was my issue it wouldn’t be looked at due to me needing my vehicle back. I told him they needed to look at it and at least try to diagnose the issue. I called again at 4:00 p.m, because it takes an hour for me to get to the dealership to pick up my vehicle and they close at 5:30p.m. Elliot informed me that the hose that needed to be replaced was off and he wasn’t sure how long before the vehicle would be ready to go. I clarified with him that it wouldnt be ready that evening and he said he doubted it. The next morning Elliot called around 9:00 a.m and said the vehicle was ready and also stated if they had more time they would have run it more to see if they could hav figured out the shifting issue. I told him I would pick it up around 1:00 p.m so they had a few more hours to drive it and try and diagnose the issue. His comment back to me was so rude. He made a snarky remark about how he thought I needed my vehicle back quickly and yet I wasn’t picking it up until that afternoon. I informed him that I had to change my whole days schedule due to not having my vehicle and that I had to wait for someone to bring me to the dealership to get the vehicle. Communication is lacking at the service department.. We have purchased 3 new vehicle there over the past 9 yrs and I can tell you I will not be going back due the service department. Not once was it communicated that the service on my vehicle would take more than a few hours. I certainly would understand that if a new issue was diagnosed that I may need to make a follow up appt or leave my vehicle there longer but that wasn’t the issue. The reason we kept buying vehicles at Tanner was not only because of the sales department but it was also because of the wonderful service department they had. No longer is that the case. More
