Utter and completely horrible customer service. Took vehicle in to have studded tires removed, oil change and check engine light. Got a call back and was told that car needed a intake manifold gasket. I approved the repair and waited. When I finally got a call back I had to have them put the studded tires back on the car. Car sounded horrible and battery was dead and key faub did not work. They took car back to fix faub. Took them another couple of weeks. Then they tried to charge me for fixing the faub. Car still does not sound right. I took it back they kept it for a week and told me that it was fine and charged me an additional $250, on top of the $2,000 I had already paid. I am going to take it to a independent shop for a second opinion. I have owned six VW's in the past and swore I would always own one. Just bought a new Subaru More
Volkswagen of Anchorage used to be great, but since Swickard bought out Kendall it has gotten progressively worse. Service at Swickard is now so bad what used to be a scheduled visit a week or two in advance is now 3-4 months out. And, it’s any kind of appointment for service from a simple oil change, manufacturer required servicing, to time sensitive issues like your car making noise, or a light came on and your is still under warranty - it’ll be 3-4 months. And, when you do schedule it and take it in at 7am, then you follow up in the evening to check on the status, they haven’t even looked at it! What’s the point of scheduling then?! I can saw without a doubt Swickard has the worst customer service of any company I’ve ever dealt with. In my case I have a bumper to bumper warranty covered by VW for 72k miles, and the leather on the drivers seat started to crack at 60k miles so I wanted to get it replaced before the warranty expired. I have taken my vehicle in on 3 separate occasions, twice scheduled months in advance, and the last time I drove in at 7am because on the previous occasions they didn’t look at it by the end of the day and I needed my car. On the last occasions I waited at Swickard for 5 hours to verify they have looked at the seat, make sure it was going to be covered (it was) and that the part was ordered. I also called the next day to confirm the part was ordered, I was told it was and that they would call me when it comes in. 3 months later I hadn’t heard anything, so I followed up, turns out the part wasn’t ordered, and now my vehicle is out of warranty - xxx. The service person was nice, and went to bat for me and escalated to the manager, explained the situation, and said the part was ordered and they would call me when it comes in so we could schedule install. Again, 3 months later I haven’t heard anything back so I followed up, and turns out they haven’t ordered it and I’m back to where I was with a now out of warranty vehicle! I was told that they would speak with the manager and call me back - no one called. I have now called in 8 times and each time I’m told that’s terrible/we’re so sorry let me send this directly to the service manager and they’ll call back right away, nothing. I’ve verified my number and email with them, and also I have been told it went to the manager, GM etc - no one has called. I don’t like flaming businesses in public, but I don’t know what else to do as Swickard is the only option in town, and it seems like they respond to messages here, (but not when you reach out directly). I hope someone from Swickard will see this so my issue can be promptly resolved as it’s been over a year and I’m at the end of my rope. More
I started my whole buying experience with finding the car I wanted online which happened to be at this dealership. I filled out all Necessary paperwork the night before. Apon arrival I was quickly greeted and Shown my car which had be washed and all ready to go. Bill Garcia is an outstanding salesman! He answered all questions, very professional, easy to work with and made the residual paperwork very easy. When it was time to do the final financing Erik took over from there. Again very professional, took care of customers needs and made it as painless as possible. All around both gentlemen where very helpfull with my purchase. I would definitely give them 5 stars with my buying experience and making it as easy as possible. More
Our experience with Swickard Volkswagen Audi Porsche of Anchorage has been nothing short of a nightmare. The dishonesty and lack of professionalism displayed by the salesman and the dealership as a whole a Anchorage has been nothing short of a nightmare. The dishonesty and lack of professionalism displayed by the salesman and the dealership as a whole are alarming. From the very start, the purchase process was grueling, taking over six hours, despite us being the only customers there. Fast forward eight months, and the issues have only worsened. We had to fight tooth and nail just to get our first oil change, despite the dealership's promise to cover all servicing for the first year. They failed to deliver on their word, citing a lack of available technicians and refusing to cover charges for service elsewhere, leaving us stranded. Communication with the dealership is abysmal. Calls go unanswered, voicemails are ignored, and the only people who pick up the phone are from a call center with zero access to useful information. It’s clear that once they have your money, they are completely unwilling or unable to provide the service they promised. The salesman blatantly lied about gap coverage and assured us we would receive a loaner car anytime we needed service—yet another empty promise. We’ve been stonewalled at every turn, making it impossible to get even basic service. In summary, avoid this dealership at all costs. They’ll say anything to get your business, but once the deal is done, you’ll be left high and dry. They have no business operating if they can’t support what they sell. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere. More

This started out as a 1 year inspection service that was supposed to take a couple hours. Now, 83 days later I still don't have the car. All explanations around the delay have centered around the unavailability technicians and services bays... and for a while because we ere waiting on parts for the car in front of me in the queue... think about that. The fact is they cannot service what they sell and will say literally anything to get to go away. Another fantastic feature of their service is that: 1. You will ask them to call you and let you know one way or another if they are done. 2. They will assure you they will call you at the given time. 3. They will not call. 4. If you call them they probably won't pick up so you leave a message asking them to call. 5.. They will not return that call. It's fantastic! Please understand that this is not happening solely to me. I have multiple fiends who are in similar boats with these guys. More
I love Volkswagen vehicles but I cannot accept the struggles that the Swickard Dealership appears to be having. It takes forever to get an appointment, calls aren't returned, service staff seem cluel struggles that the Swickard Dealership appears to be having. It takes forever to get an appointment, calls aren't returned, service staff seem clueless, when I'm told to come in for a "one hour" service and it takes 7-9 hours is not acceptable, and the place feels & looks like a "ghost town". Swickard needs to do something but the customer should not have to put up with where things currently are. More
Stopped going to Alaska Sales and Service 30 years ago because of total lack of customer service. I was hoping that things had changed with new ownership but it is actually worse now. Trying to get a new RKE (Remote key less entry )transmitter and no one seems able to or wants to help. Live in the valley and may have to fly to Seattle just to get this replaced! More
My wife is 6 months pregnant and I made an appointment for her on December 11, 2023 for our 2023 ID4 that we purchased from Swickard. I made the appointment almost two weeks prior and when my wife arrive for her on December 11, 2023 for our 2023 ID4 that we purchased from Swickard. I made the appointment almost two weeks prior and when my wife arrived they acted like there was no appointment. When I spoke with them I also told them that she would need a shuttle to work and back from work as she is a teacher. We arranged the shuttle around 12:00pm that day with Jackson our service advisor and he said he arranged a shuttle for my wife and at 4:00 pm my wife sat there for 1 1/2 hours and no one came to pick her up and I kept calling Swickard and no one calls back. Very bad service. I wish we would not have bought the car from them. Treating people like that they don't deserve business they deserve to go bankrupt. More
