UPDATE: I went to see the general manager, Steve Landis, to let him know what transpired yesterday. He listened carefully, and we walked over to Used Car Sales where Steve fixed things with the used car sal to let him know what transpired yesterday. He listened carefully, and we walked over to Used Car Sales where Steve fixed things with the used car sales manager. Assuming nothing crazy happens, I bring home my new car tomorrow morning. It's been trying, but I'm glad I gave them the chance to make all of this right. I'm going to cautiously switch my recommendation from "no" to "yes," but I would still advise potential used car customers to proceed carefully. After making three trips to Elder Ford to test drive and close the deal on a used car, I was looking forward to leaving a great review. The sales consultant, Mark Sawyer, couldn't have been more helpful and easygoing, and I was excited to sign the paperwork and hand over the check for my car. Unfortunately, the dealership pulled a bait-and-switch on me *after we agreed* on a price—the full asking price!—in order to correct a pricing error in their system, which was only communicated after my husband and I cut short our out-of-state vacation to come into the dealership and make everything official. They came down $1000 from their new asking price, and I offered to pay $200 more than our agreed-upon-price, but they wouldn't budge from there. I didn't believe that I should have pay for their error after we had agreed on a price, and I had already put down a deposit. They weren't even poised to lose money on the car, and so I was shocked that they would risk their reputation and lose a customer. It was a deeply dishonorable move, and I very much regret that I can't recommend them to anyone. If they were willing to honor the original price—the one we agreed upon—I would consider revising this review. More
I was told that I was approved for a loan but they would not tell how much it was for either over the phone or in person. After spending an hour in the office waiting for Maurice to process my application, not tell how much it was for either over the phone or in person. After spending an hour in the office waiting for Maurice to process my application, find out which cars would fit my budget (which wasnt that stingy), and get the keys for those vehicles, I finally decided to just leave the place. Maurice at least greeted me with a smile as I walked out the door. I did take a Mt. Dew from his fridge as well. Don't waste your time with this place. More
I had the BEST experience at Elder Ford!!! I went in knowing only what I wanted to spend and Jeff had a few different options to show me. He was not the typical sales guy, I.e pushy, calling numerous t knowing only what I wanted to spend and Jeff had a few different options to show me. He was not the typical sales guy, I.e pushy, calling numerous times a day; he allowed me to take my time and contact him when i was ready. When I decided on the car I wanted, the process moved quickly and painlessly. Jeff and his team were super helpful with getting me the best deal and super friendly. This was my first car purchase and although it was a tad stressful, it was an awesome experience!!! I would highly reccomend Elder Ford and Jeff and his team!!!! More
Before purchasing my vehicle at Elder Ford i went to there website to research some of there vehicles and found a coupon saying i would get 100.00 off a new or used vehicle and a 100.00 gift card. Durin there website to research some of there vehicles and found a coupon saying i would get 100.00 off a new or used vehicle and a 100.00 gift card. During my purchase i presented the coupon and the sales person Trey took the form from me and presented it to his sales manager. Trey brought it back to me saying i would receive my 100.00 VISA gift card in the mail in 7-10 days. This was all happening while i was siging my finance paperwork and in the excitment i thought he had also got the 100.00 off taken care of. Well a couple days goes by and i get something in the mail from E Outlet Store .com with 4 seperate cardboard card saying 25.00 off from any purchase from each of the 4 stores Rock Canyon, Pots & Pans plus, Zunki, and Gadgetmall. When reviewing there websites there is nothing any of them sell that is less then 35.00 so i would have to pay money to redeem any of these cards. I called my sales person Trey and he talks to his manager and calls me back to say he should not have told me that i was getting a 100.00 VISA gift card. I tell him this is not what i was told and is not acceptable. He then has me call the General/Sales Manager which i did and was told by Justin(i belive this was his name not 100% sure) and he tells me what i got is all i am getting. I tell him his sales person Trey told me different while i was signing my paperwork and Justin tells me did the paper i printed out from Elder Fords website say i was getting a VISA gift card. I say no it doesnt say that it only says i will be getting a 100.00 gift card. He tells me it doesnt matter what the sales person Trey told me this is all i will be getting. I explain to him what i got and that its not a 100.00 gift card its 4 25.00 off the purchase of any item from 4 different stores and nothing on there websites sell for 25.00. I also asked him about the 100.00 i was to get and he tells me he will have the general manager of the internet dept call me. I have followed up 3 times with message and not once have i received a call back. While getting my financing through them i was told the bank required me to have gap insurance to approve the loan in the amount of 799.00. 3 days after i recieve a call from my new finance company Partner Federal C/U and when asking them about this for my approval they told me they would NEVER require gap insurance to approve a loan. They told me this was done by the dealership to gain more profitt from me. Elder Ford will Lie to your face to get the deal closed. Buyer beware. I will never refer or purchase from this or another Elder dealership again and i hope anyone going there will have the chance to read this first. More
