Shady dealership - do not buy here! I decided to take the plunge and lease my first vehicle. After deciding against a Ram from Suburban Chrysler, i decided to lease a far superior F-150 I decided to take the plunge and lease my first vehicle. After deciding against a Ram from Suburban Chrysler, i decided to lease a far superior F-150 from Elder Ford. Unfortunately, I discovered after a couple weeks that I got screwed by about $800 on my trade-in. I'll get to that in a minute. When I first walked in, I was ignored for the first 5 minutes by a cocky young sales guy, Scott Gorgies (who I later discovered -- to my delight -- was fired soon after). He was busily flirting with Jessi and Nadine at the front desk. He did not seem pleased that I came in, maybe because it was about a half hour before closing. His attitude was unenthusiastic and unprofessional. But I was not put off -- I asked to test drive an F150. I liked the vehicle, and he said it would be $432/mo. For some reason, he wanted a deposit of $100. This seemed odd, but I decided to give it to him. The next day, I changed my mind. I decided to keep my old truck. It was paid off, and I wanted to avoid car payments for as long as possible. I went back to Elder Ford to get my check back. Scott said to me, "What if we bought your truck off you?" I said ok, I'm listening. He asked, "How much do you want for it?" I said $4,500. A mechanic went out to take a look at it. When he came back in and talked to Scott, I was offered $3,500. We eventually settled at $4,200, which would be applied to the 2-year lease. That should have brought the car payment down to $257, not the $292 I'm currently paying. But I didn't realize this at the time. This being my first lease, I was naive and foolishly trusted the numbers. However, I soon realized my mistake. The lease should have been $35 less with my trade-in. So I went back to Elder Ford and was told by Jessi and Nadine that Scott was fired for some unknown reason. They were quite upset about it, but I was inwardly pleased. They didn't say why he was fired. Maybe he spends too much time flirting and not enough time working -- that's my best guess. Anyway, they directed me to the manager, Tod Hanoosh. I told him about my trade-in and how my lease should have been $35 less. He told me he would look into it and promised we would make it right, whether by a check or some other form of compensation. He said he would be in touch soon. Over a week went by. Tod never called. My patience was at an end. I drove back to Elder Ford. After waiting a while, I sat down with him again. I asked him why he didn't contact me. He lied and said "he was about to..." I said, so what about not getting my trade-in fully applied to my lease? He said sorry, there was nothing he could do. He said there was no proof about the original quote of $432 (as if I would make that number up), so they couldn't give me a refund for the $840 I was getting screwed out of. Further, he said he didn't have the authority to request a check or any other compensation from the used car department (yeah right, he's the friggin manager of the dealership!), nor could the salesrep remember quoting me $432 (suuuure he couldn't.) Anyway, simple math showing the vehicle price plus incentives at the time of the lease would have easily shown him that my claim was entirely true. Plus, why would I lie? Why would my lie be so specific, and only for $35 a month in my favor? Bottom line, it was like I traded in my truck for $3,360 instead of $4,200. I got screwed out of $820. The manager could have made it right, but didn't. He BS'd, shucked and jived as one would expect from a car salesman (or a lawyer, a politician, or similar known liars). Well, in the end, it's this dealership that will pay the price. I will NOT be a return customer. I WILL spread this true tale all over the internet -- Yelp, Google, Yahoo and wherever else I can. I will send it to the Tod's boss, and to Ford executives. If Elder Ford loses even one customer because of my story, I will be satisfied. Do not trust Elder Ford, or their sales reps, or their Tod Hanoosh. Steer clear of this place. More

A word of warning to buyers, Make sure you check the advertised features for the vehicle against what it actually has and that each is working. My truck has the integrated brake controller. It wasn't until after finalizing the purchase that I found the brake controller was not working. I connected to a trailer and found the brakes on the trailer were not applying. I asked Dennis (the used salesman) if he could explain how the controller worked. Dennis said "I don't know, you'll have to read the manual". This is a used Ford vehicle sold at Ford dealership and their salesmen don't know how features work? Dennis was kind enough to bring out a salesman from the new car department. This gentleman was kind and went for a quick ride with me to see if he could figure out the issue. He determined that it had to be my trailer because the truck didn't recognize the trailer was connected. Now here's why it didn't recognize the trailer. The truck was bought out of Canada (which I knew) and the gauge cluster was converted (which I also knew) BUT the brake controller wasn't turned on so the truck didn't know it had a brake controller. I had to pay my local dealer ($100 deductible for 12mo/12000 mi warranty) to turn the brake controller on. I asked that Elder Ford refund me for the deductible but that request was denied. I was never offered service by the dealer when it was found that the brake controller wasn't working. Sad that a "Ford Certified" vehicle that allegedly had a 177 point inspection would have installed features that do not work. Even worse when it's pointed out after the sale and no one offers to look into the issue for you. I don't think it's asking too much of a dealer to refund $100 for something they were made aware had a potential issue before I left the lot. More

My salesperson was always pleasant to talk with, but he dropped the ball on a couple occasions and failed to contact me back. I was eventually handed off to the sales manager because a pricing issue on the Fusion Energi that I was looking at. They decided to honor the salesman's $500 pricing error. I had asked my salesperson to check to see if the car had both key fob's as they can be expensive to replace. He told me it had only one and got me a price of $195 (he said their cost) plus $45 to program it. I would think that programming should be included as as courtesy. I was willing to pay up to $100 for a replacement remote. I called 2 other local dealerships in my area and was given price of $112 and $120 retail. I realize a dealership can charge whatever they want, but I think they were just trying to make up for the pricing mistake. I could have still bought the fusion, but this did not sit well with me. Then after I told the salesperson that I was not buying it, I noticed they jacked the price up on the website by $2000 for the Fusion Energi. I personally can not recommend this dealership, but you can draw your own conclusions. I was in the car business for over 20 years and I would have never done this. Demand two remotes when you buy a used car. It came with two new, it should come with two used. My dealership always sold cars with 2 remotes. If it did not have it, we got it before it went on sale. After all, this is a 2015, not a 15 year old car. Everyone I talked to at the dealership was pleasant though, and that is why I gave them a GOOD instead of a AVERAGE rating. More
Used car salesman lied about car! Shocker My husband called and talked to a used car salesmen (named Asaid) at Elder Ford. My husband made it crystal clear what we wanted and that we were driving 5 hours EACH WAY to look at this car on the Asaid's assurance that the car looked great! We asked specifically for the truth about the car's condition because of the travel time. My husband asked for honest answers and when we got there we realized the salesman had lied about many things. He assumed that his lies and the distance we travelled (on his word) to see the car would compel us to buy it anyway. We expect a used car to have a few imperfections but this car was obviously painted poorly 3 different times and the color was not the same in certain areas. It had a botched cover up of paint to hide imperfections on the leather interior. We called the car ' Frankenstein' because it was so poorly fixed by painters with no experience and botched inside. The sales guy, Asaid, was shocked we didn't want it and assumed we would buy the crappy car because we travelled so far. I will never give this business my money nor recommend them to any one because they employed a dishonest, and underhanded, lying salesman. He gives all used car salesman a bad name and Elder Ford employs him. Enough said!! More

Scam Artists Be wary on getting anything repaired at this dealer. I came in with a simple request to fix a recalled item on my car, and then they called me and to Be wary on getting anything repaired at this dealer. I came in with a simple request to fix a recalled item on my car, and then they called me and told me they needed to replace another thing in the car to get the defected piece to work correctly (which was going to be 650 bucks which I was fine with), and then they called back saying they had more issues with the car and that one of the cylinders wasn't firing correctly and that they need to change the spark plugs (for 200+ bucks... are you kidding me to change 6 spark plugs???), and that they needed to replace the cables to the spark plugs as well by the end they were about to charge me over 1300 dollars for everything (as well as the defected item) . I should say that my car prior of going into this shop had only 1 problem, the defected item. Now all of a sudden all this extra stuff is wrong with it. So I rejected everything, because they obviously did something to my car to have all these problems just magically occur while it was in their shop. So then when I came to pick up my car they were going to charge a 98 dollar diagnostic fee (which I was ok with), and then a 90 dollar restocking fee on the part, which A. I was never informed on prior, and B. was their own fault I didn't take the part since they were the ones that declared it was the problem, when it clearly was NOT the problem. I am sorry, but I will not pay for their mistake. I will reiterate, I took this car in for 1 reason, and one reason alone, and it was returned to me in a far worse state. I cannot comment on their sales side of things, but be very wary of their maintenance team. (Andrew, and Mike (the manager over there) in particular will talk condescending to you, and won't even consider other solutions that could be just as valid as their own decision.) Get your cars fixed here at your own risk, you might take it in for an oil change, and you might need a new engine after they are done with it. More
