I've been going to Surburban Ford of Sterling Heights for many years and would never choose another dealer. The customer service is also very welcoming and I always get the best deal. In the past dealing with buying a new car is my personal Kryptonite! In not so many words, I HATE IT!! NOT ANYMORE!!! I stopped into Suburan Ford last week on a Tuesday, I met with Mike Smitley. He had Kryptonite! In not so many words, I HATE IT!! NOT ANYMORE!!! I stopped into Suburan Ford last week on a Tuesday, I met with Mike Smitley. He had helped by Father with a previous car purchase and came highly reccommended. Mike listened to what I needed and wanted, went over pricing, had my car evaluated for a trade in and the very next day, I was driving off the lot with my new(er) Ford Focus! SMOOTHEST - EASIEST - LEAST STRESSFUL - Car purchase I have EVER had the pleasure of being a part of! I will definitely go back when it's time for a new car! Thanks Mike!! More
I have always dreaded the process of buying a new car. Paperwork, waiting, the salesman, etc. Suburan Ford was my third dealership I had visited during the month of October during my search for a new car. Paperwork, waiting, the salesman, etc. Suburan Ford was my third dealership I had visited during the month of October during my search for a new car. I was hoping my experience would be better than the last two and it turned out to be better than expected. My salesman was extremely patient with me during my indecisiveness, and he never made me feel pressured. He returned all of my calls promptly and kept me updated as we worked through the details of my lease. I appreciate all the hard work put into finding exactly what I wanted. The process was seamless. Even when I showed up to pick up my vehicle all of the paperwork was ready and I only had to sign. Lastly, each time I came to the dealership I was always greeted by someone with a smile and was made to feel welcomed and comfortable. I continue to recommend my salesman and this dealership to my friends and family who are in search for a new vehicle. More

Historically, buy a car has been at best, an unpleasant experience. Working with Mike Smitley at Suburban Ford definitely changed that experience. This was not the typical, high-pressure sales encounter. I experience. Working with Mike Smitley at Suburban Ford definitely changed that experience. This was not the typical, high-pressure sales encounter. I was actually left with the impression that they wanted a satisfied customer more than a sale. Mike was very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He took the time to listen to what we needed and wanted, then helped us find the best solution at the best price. All of this without ever mentioning that we need to buy it right now or else... I have, and will continue to, recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a new car. I hope other dealers are taking notes. Thanks, Jim Krause More
I just bought a vehicle from Suburban of Sterling Heights literally two days ago. It is a used vehicle, I test drove it, got it inspected and the vehicle looked clean. I specifically asked my mechanic to s literally two days ago. It is a used vehicle, I test drove it, got it inspected and the vehicle looked clean. I specifically asked my mechanic to scan the computer board to make sure there was no errors. He did, showed me the screen and nothing came up on the scan. I purchased the vehicle for close to $10K. I drove it back home, which is exactly 5miles away from the dealership and it sat on our lot for the night. The next day, when I turned the engine on, the dashboard displayed a service needed message. The car has 86K miles on it, this message shows up at 80K until it gets serviced. The message is only displayed once a day so if it's cleared the first time you turn the engine on in the morning it won't show up til 24hours later. They hid this message from me although I specifically asked them if there was anything wrong with the car, or if there was any fixes/repairs, maintenance due. They answered no. Then, oh here's the best part, check engine light, showed up 36 hours after the vehicle was purchased. They're tweaking their vehicles so the dashboard error messages don't show up. They can do it very easily buy plugging in a scanner and clearing the error code. No less than 5 error codes showed up!!! Two of the cylinder (5 and 6) are misfiring, causing the car to vibrate at high speed, and thus making it a hazard on the road. The MPG is greatly affected by that. Dishonest and disgusting practices. My second experience is just as bad as my first one. Total rip off! Do NOT buy from this dealership! I More
They are the best - hands down. After extensive searching, this was our 3rd time buying from this dealership. Getting ready to go check out the electric focus for mom searching, this was our 3rd time buying from this dealership. Getting ready to go check out the electric focus for mom More
Worst "attempted" used car buying experience of my life. Wired a large deposit to hold a sports car I found on line (I live 700+ miles away). When I wired my money, the car was available. Next m my life. Wired a large deposit to hold a sports car I found on line (I live 700+ miles away). When I wired my money, the car was available. Next morning I get a text telling me "sorry, the car sold late last night" (after the money exited my bank account!) All I got was a "sorry" from the salesperson, Nate. I wanted this car and tried togiveMr. salesperson my debit card to move it off the "for sale" row and he wouldn't take it, nor would he have anyone contact my bank (same large bank that they use too!) to verify my funding, which should have protected my purchase of this vehicle as all this, including the wire transfer happened many hours before he said it got sold from underneath me. Unethical and dishonest business practices...salesman either was playing two hands and sold it to a local buyer, or too incompetent to move it off the for sale row and let another rep sell it for him to someone else. And go figure...the same car, after more than two weeks... is still for sale on their website! What a well run dealership?!?! Guess they don't really want to sell anything especially to anyone out of state? You tell me, pretty mind blowing. I got my $1K deposit back...took over a week, and frankly thought they were going to try to keep it because I could not get any answers from Nate, Corina, or their General Sales Manager Jim Elder via two online surveys. Gary Sommer did return my voicemail regarding the status of my $1K deposit being returned but it was VERY obvious that he did not want to hear my side of this "failed purchase" story. And frankly, that was okay with me because I was so sick of dealing with his employees and their games, poor communication, unresponded auto generated internet surveys, etc...I just wanted to get my money back and have the following thoughts: 1. NOT endup buying a car from this dealership. 2. NOT end up buying a non refundable one way ticket to Detroit to get the car. 3. NOT have to file a complaint with Sterling Height's BBB, and Michigan's Attorney General since their check (my deposit) has cleared my bank. 4. Knowing who the owner is of this shabby Ford Dealership and how to reach him with this story, knowing Ford Motor Company would like to know additional details not even discussed in my review (above), AND... 5. Hoping...this company takes a close look at the way they do business, clean some house, fix some internal policies, get real about prospective buyer communication, and remove dishonesty and poor ethics in their organization. I am certain they owe me and many others a pretty large apology. 6. Knowing I have several other online surveys I can take about this experience with "SUBURBAN FORD OF STERLING HEIGHTS" and their "PEOPLE" in hopes of helping some other consumers to avoid this dealership and their games. Hope this "whining" helps someone avoid these people. More
