I never feel "duped" when I walk away with my new Subaru. Being female, I always feel a little leary about walking into a car dealership, but Subaru's staff has managed to put my fears and leariness at ease. In 2004, I purchased my first Subaru--a 2002 WRX wagon. Although I didn't have the world's best credit, the salesperson worked with me. He made sure that I had financing through a reputable bank so that I could not only enjoy my car but also restore my credit. I have to admit that I drove my little turbo wagon into the ground. It took me from Georgia to Maryland, from Maryland to Florida, from Florida to Georgia, and from Georgia to South Carolina and back numerous times without much maintenance. My WRX was amazing! I know it would have lasted longer if I had treated her better along the way, but I was a full-time college student who worked full-time. So, when I knew she needed more care than I could give her, I came back to Subaru of Gwinnett to trade her in for another Subaru--even though I hated to part with the car that I had dreamed of owning, had finally acquired, and had nothing but great experiences with. On September 14, I emailed this dealership inquiring about a 2008 Forester X that they had on their lot. With quick response, Jennifer Chupp replied that she or Lance would be happy to talk with me about this car. That night, I, my husband, and my worn WRX pulled into the Gwinnett dealership lot, walked into the dealership, and met with Lance. He allowed both me and my husband to test drive the vehicle. We never felt any pressure from Lance as we thoroughly inspected the Forester. When I told him that this was the car I wanted, he spoke with Terry, the general manager, and came back with a fair trade-in offer for my car. In less than two hours, I had signed the necessary documents, had paid a fair price for my new Subaru, and had been given a 100,000-mile warranty. With a full tank of gas, compliments of the dealership, my husband and I were headed home. Less than a week had gone by when I received a call from Lance, my salesperson. He explained that the bank needed a co-signer for my loan. Needless to say, I was worried that the "no-haggle, no-duping female car buyers" dealership was about to play dirty. I had heard of this kind of thing happening--the car's bought but then the bank won't put the loan through (at least that's what the dealership tells you) unless the interest rate is increased or more money can be put down on the car. For three days I waited to find out the fate that existed between me and my new Forester. Although Lance assured me each time I called that all would be fine, I was still worried. I refused to drive my car because I didn't want to form an attachment and end up paying twice what the car was worth when they would explain that I couldn't have the car unless.... Once again, the staff at Subaru pulled through. Lance hadn't been trying to get more money out of me to increase his commission. He was honestly trying to maintain the original deal I had wanted, and the way to do this was by adding a co-signer. When I returned with my husband (and co-signer) on September 25, I was amazed that (1) My car payment didn't increase and (2) I didn't have to provide any more money. In fact, Terry decreased my car payment for the inconvenience of having to come back in and provided me with a cargo mat, an owner's manual, a car fax report, and a bottle of cleaner upon my request. I actually left the dealership having made money, really. All in all, I have to say that being happy with my Subaru(s) is a "no brainer." My current 2008 Forester runs smoothly and has more room than I'd ever expected. Even though I gave up my turbo when I traded in the WRX, this Forester has great pick up. I can honestly say that I don't miss the turbo, which is something that I thought I would regret giving up. I also have to say that being happy with the staff at Subarua of Gwinnett is even more of a "no brainer." They're honest, efficient, funny, and kind! I'll definitely be going back. In fact, my husband told me that when he pays his truck off, he may just be making a trip to Subaru of Gwinnett to check out the WRX on the lot. Rest assured, this is the car buying experience you've been looking for. It's fair; it's fast, and it's actually fun! Just like the Subaru you'll drive home in!!!! More
My partner & I were in the market for the new Outback & found Subaru of Gwinnett on the internet. Gary called & emailed the price & what he had available on the lot. My partner is from Ringgold Georgia wh found Subaru of Gwinnett on the internet. Gary called & emailed the price & what he had available on the lot. My partner is from Ringgold Georgia which is across the state line & Chattanooga. The dealer up there was terrible & absolutely zero help in finding our new car. We did most of the legwork on the phone & internet. This is the best way to buy a car. Subaru of Gwinnet has an Auto trader guaranteed trade value that was higher then anyone around. Chris in the finance department got the rate we wanted & had us signed up & out the door in just over a hour. We live in Decatur, but it was well worth the drive to Duluth to get the deal. We had the best time & really enjoyed what normally would be a stressful event. KUDOS Subaru of Gwinnett!! What a way to buy a car. More

Haggling with these guys is a joke. The salesman was nice but I don't quite understand the runaround thing with going back and forth with the sales manager and the salesperson.
