Carlos was wonderful to work with. He was very knowledgeable and professional as he helped us look over and compare the new Palisades. We traded in our other car and he was able to get a quick, generous quote on our trade that convinced us to go with this dealership. At a time of serious lack of inventory, they had a lot to choose from and Carlos really knew his stuff. I would highly recommend purchasing through Stockton Hyundai, and make sure you ask for Carlos! The service has improved somewhat, but there is still major flaws. 1) The online system to schedule a service, which is linked to the Genesis Connected Services app, still points to a Hyundai scheduli major flaws. 1) The online system to schedule a service, which is linked to the Genesis Connected Services app, still points to a Hyundai scheduling service, which doesn't seem to be appropriately equipped to handle Genesis appointments(I have noticed on other Genesis dealer sites that the proper Genesis platform handles 3 and 6 month service scheduling, valet requests, etc...). I had to call in to schedule my 6 month appointment. 2) There is still a voice mail system when I call the service department. This is a bit unnerving especially since, the first time I left a message, nobody called back. So I had to keep calling until I got an actual person on the line. It seems that I wasn't rerouted to a voice mail as often as the last time I left my car there, but it still seems to be a lingering issue. 3) The valet request seems to be almost verboten since it was only offered after I had specified that said service is in my contract, and even then it seemed to be a rather begrudging response. I don't ask for extra services, just the services that came with the purchase of the car. 4) On the day of pickup, they were late by over 3 hours. First they did not show up, then I called only to find out that they had forgotten(even though I had previously scheduled by phone the date and time for pickup, even calling a second time to make sure pickup was at my workplace and not at home). Then when they said they were heading my way to pick up my car, that took about 2 hours since it seems that, whether due to understaffing or organizational issues, they had shuttled another Genesis owner all the way to Discovery Bay(which apparently was not known before they drove the client off to his location). 5) A work order was emailed to me after my car was picked up, but mainly due to me requesting such. With that said, once the car was picked up, the service was performed in a fairly prompt fashion and returned the same day, with the dealership calling me to update me on the situation(which did not happen the last time I had left it). However, I have noticed that record of such service has not been registered into the Connected Services(I had manually inserted it myself, which still hasn't reset the mileage/time counter on the app) nor do I see it registered via CarFax(still getting emails from CarFax saying it is due for a service). So there still seems to be a disconnect with updating the records. All in all, things have improved since the last time I left my car at the service department, which is a total nightmare, but the above issues really do need to be addressed. It seems that said other Genesis owner that was shuttled was fairly irate as well, which makes me believe that there are still some issues overall. I hope that these issues are resolved since I do love my G70 and really do want to have faith in the brand itself since driving this car is always an enjoyable experience. But the service experience at the dealership still needs to resolve the issues revolving around its Genesis brand. More
