This review has been on going since September 2023 when I took my car in for an oil change. Therefore the current or previous tech at acura had stripped my drain plug which we were provided a loaner vehicle took my car in for an oil change. Therefore the current or previous tech at acura had stripped my drain plug which we were provided a loaner vehicle while the repairs were done. We were told they had to order a new oil pan and replace it which were fine with. So we got the car back around a week later in the beginning of October 2023. Was told they fixed the issue an replaced the oil pan we got home.on the way home the check engine light came on. I pulled the code an it was for exhaust leak so I cleared the code. After 2 days noticed oil on my drive way under the car. Drove it up on ramps an oil is everywhere. Took it to the dealer they said the oil pump seal is leaking an rear main seal is leaking which we have never had that issue prior to them repairing the oil pan. As well check engine light kept coming on an off for exhaust leak. Also asked for the paperwork to show that all the previous work they did was noted. Which was promised when Eric Clifton had the time to pull it up. Later Eric Cliftin sent a quote to me for repairs, but no invoice showing the repairs as stated. I chose to not have them service my vehicle an did them myself as I was a mechanic for many years. Got home an got the car up started looking around noticed they had striped the top exhaust bolt when removing the oil pan also they had forgotten to replace the crankshaft sensor cover which I took photos of every thing to document. After lifting the motor an removing the the exhaust I was able to get the pan off which showed that they did not replace the pan as stated they ended up adding a helicopter instead. So that explains why they wouldn't provide me with an invoice stating previous work done. So went an looked at the paper work again an realized they used 0w20 full synthetic oil which is not the proper oil. Also shows they filled 6 quarts which acura tl 5w20 an 4.5 quarts which could be a reason the oil pump seal an rear main seal began leaking. So fast forward after removing the pan there was excessive amounts of Honda bond in side the pan on the oil dip stick, an even in the oil pump pick up tube screen. Went ahead replaced water pump an timing chain again since I had to replace the oil pump seal behind there. Got everything back together took it back to acura spoke with Eric Clifton about the issues he then admitted they did not replace th oil pan. RED FLAG THERE. Also pointed out the exhaust bolt, missing cover, exhaust leak. So waited for them to order the part and an replace. So we are now into November 2023 an still trying to resolve issues from September. While out of town working my wife took the car in for then to fix their issues from before. Ended up back in town an looked underneath the car again to discover they replaced the exhaust bolt an missing cover but now they didn't reconnect the exhaust hanger to support the exhaust. Figured it can wait till next oil change today. Went In an spoke to my service advisor Andy Garcia.about the issues as he had been with me since day 1 of this crap show. By the way he great example of professionalism an always going above an beyond my expectations, he is the only reason why I continue to due business with Acura of Sugarland. So I was informed that Eric would get the exhaust hanger fixed but no oil change today I let Andy know I would schedule for tomorrow Saturday February 17 2024. I have Un covered who is trustworthy an who is not. It is a shame. I have avoided righting this review in hopes things being fixed not only with my vehicle but with me an the time I have been forced to waste due to there poor management an minor mistakes by multiple service technicians at Acura. You are treated as invoice only here by most I have encountered. Andy Garcia is the only exception. Keep up the excellent work Andy. Wish me luck on hopefully the last day tomorrow for an on going issue created by Acura in September of 2023 . I would love to hear back. More
