Several years ago, we had a negative customer service relationship with Sport Durst Mazda, and had promised not to go back. However, we also wanted to comparison shop the Hyundai Santa Fe-- at least to s relationship with Sport Durst Mazda, and had promised not to go back. However, we also wanted to comparison shop the Hyundai Santa Fe-- at least to see how it compared to the cars we were more seriously considering, the Kia Sorento and the Nissan Pathfinder. We dropped in on Dan, who was extremely polite, understanding, and clear about the advantages of the Santa Fe without being pushy. What struck us most about Dan was the sense that he was fundamentally on our side, both in the decision of which vehicle to buy and in the price negotiation. He was not a typical "What do I have to do to get you into this car" kind of salesman. He arranged for us to take several test drives and understood that we were very wary about the risk of making a bad decision. We trusted him a great deal and appreciated that he gave the impression of really understanding our sometimes quirky concerns. Working with Tony was equally positive, although for much less time, of course. Tony put us at ease over the process, clearly explained everything related to delivery, and was very active in making sure everything was perfect (for example, by noticing and fixing an imperfection in the paint job). He was also a very effective ambassador for the entire organization, apologizing for our earlier bad experience (which had nothing to do with him, of course) and assuring us that Sport Durst Hyundai is really devoted to customer service, both before and after the sale. More
